I’m voting Kabutops. I think especially the Neo water type is just great. But the Shining is also the best from Neo Destiny.

Here an Alphabetical (English) WotC era list of artworks that might be useful. (Keep in mind that Dark, Light, Gym leader’s, etc. Pokémon unfortunately kinda F up the idea of grouping Pokémon together by name by sorting alphabetically..)
Anyway, my top three for best artworks across all their WotC era TCG cards, if I had to pick, would be:

Note that I picked the cards with the best artworks as a whole across the entire WotC era. My favorite artwork is the Moltres WotC promo #21, but the other Moltres artwork are only ‘decent’, hence why it isn’t mentioned above. That’s also a big reason why Pokémon like Celebi, Mewtwo, Abra, Tyranitar, etc. aren’t mentioned as honorable mention, despite having some absolutely killer artworks in the WotC era.

Those zubat all have different wing details. Are there different subspecies of zubats? Some have pointy wings and some are rounded. Others have the wing spine meeting the joint and some inbetween.
Also didnt notice all the repeated stock arts in kogas zubat.

Looks like you’re indeed correct! The rounded wings variant of the Neo Revelations Zubat artwork and the one with different wing sections meeting exactly at the corner of the wings in the first Skyridge Zubat artwork should have been added to the Unofficial gen 1 section of my (abandoned) National Index collection.

Card single handedly got me back into Pokemon in 2022. While searching for Charizard and Pikachu prices I accidentally came across this art, and it blew my mind. I exited cards before Gen 2.
