I was going to show previously other cards with the same error as it raised suspicions for me as they are from different sets. Not that this is impossible but a seller with all these different ones from different sets but with the same error hmmm. If genuine they are awesome. My concern here is someone is able to make something as good as this. I’m only going on the fact there’s ones from different sets which to me is keeping me away.
These are insanely cool, but I would have definitely chosen to grade them with cgc beforehand.
Could be the case that they have been buying them for years and just decided to sell them all, which would make sense with this assortment of cards. But the skepticism is reasonable and I would have graded them
The drag just blew the bloody doors off. Charizard base 2 and Blastoise base 2 not to mention the others and now this. I’m watching the feedback as they haven’t had any regarding these cards.
This Pokemon card features Blastoise and Wigglytuff, and is a rare find for collectors. The card was manufactured by Wizards of the Coast for the Pokemon Trading Card Game in 1999 as part of the Base Set 2. Its rarity stems from its Cosmos Holo finish, and it also features a misprint and is part of the Unlimited series.
This was bought in a bundle with hundreds of cards there’s a couple like this but not many and I’ve kept the others and decided to sell this one as it’s the worst condition !
I cannot prove it’s 100% a factory error nor can I say it is not as WOTC are known for these types of errors - it’s definitely double Holo error printed as
You can see that - but then the added bonus is Raichu is there I’m not sure how it’s happened and speaking to printing company’s etc they said the plates for the cards could of ghost printed it on
Same as the Blastoise this has a similar error and I’ve been told they could be rare Theme Deck errors but again I cannot confirm
Double printing isn’t unheard of for Rocket. IMO the cards look completely fine, it’s just odd that the seller didn’t choose to grade them first. Seller feedback is bad, albeit not for reasons that have anything to do with counterfeiting. A pioneering young error collector might snatch them up quick and then reap the benefits once CGC is able to write up a nice article xD
These parts don’t feel right. The yellow should be a spot color so it shouldn’t be so translucent and these lines suggest the border doesn’t extend past the card. I’m really leaning toward fake.
If the shift was correctly specified with the name, it would be a left-right shift. However, the energy symbol show a vertical shift with a slight left-right shift. This can be achieved with a torqued print, but then the name and HP wouldn’t be level.
Look at the borders - the left-right borders are incorrect. If there was a left-right shift, we would also see the border on the left side differ like we do on the right. The top-down borders are off, and not solely because of the printing - look at how large the bottom border is, yet the tops are identical between the two printings.
What has happened is that the seller placed an image on top of another image, but squeezed/expanded it without considering that it would oddly affect the borders of the card.
Extremely fake. I feel bad for anyone who gets scammed by these “error” creators. It’s obviously easy to get fooled by this, at least one member here was. It harms not only the gullible buyers who get scammed but error collecting in the hobby more broadly.
As iffy as CGC can be, I doubt they’d bite on these. The seller has probably already tried.
The worst part is the eBay description. The first paragraph is AI generated, then the rest reads like classic scammer-speak. Notice how the grammar and punctuation falls apart after the generic first paragraph.
Ok I’ve been in contact and I have vids etc etc. Anyone who’s interested in seeing message me on dm and I’ll WhatsApp them to you. I honestly went aarrgghh out loud with one vid you’ll see what I mean if interested.
