What in the world is this Base Set Deckbox?

Hello!
I stumbled upon someone selling this Deck Box in a larger lot of cards.
Given the classic design I would presume it’s from base set. But I cannot find any information about it.
Does anyone know where this comes from and if it’s very rare?

I’ve come across those many times over the years but don’t recall where they’re from. Not very rare I’d say.

I think it’s from the Base Set gift box with the weird closed pokeball front cover design.

All I can find is this

It was listed as Pokemon 1999-2000 Not For Resale Promotional Base Set Gift Box. Can’t open link though, might have been from ages ago. It’s probably a UK box, judging from the date on the cards?

They come in 1999-2000 base set theme decks (zap, overgrowth, brushfire and blackout), I have 4 from opening 4 theme decks. :blush:

EDIT: Also noticed now, that the energies that are next to it are 1999-2000 also :wink:
