- 50% Modern / 50% Vintage
Both. They fulfil different roles in my collection.
I have put a cut off for all promos till XY-P, so it is more Vintage till almost modern? At least based on the recent polls, BW-P / XY-P is classified as transitional / modern. However, I do pick up the occasional modern promo card with some great artwork or just a super cheap pickup.
Cheers!
Vintage only.
I’ve had a good fill collecting vintage early on so I’m mostly chilling with the new releases
Both, and at the extreme ends. Wotc pre e-series and swsh/sv. After I’m finished with certain goals I’m going to go on to e-series.
80% vintage 20% modern. Main core of my collection is vintage. I’m much pickier with modern, mainly exclusive JP promo releases or specific ARs/SARs from sets, for example Stamp Promos and Komiya’s Frigibax - Baxcalibur line from Snow Hazard. I’m not a modern set collector.
Both really
Depends on what the trainers i like get i guess haha
I collect vintage for nostalgia and as a semi investment and modern for the art. I can’t imagine I’ll collect too many modern graded cards, they are solely for the binder whereas vintage I collect both graded and raw.
I think the majority of modern cards I have are freebies from vintage Japanese purchases
Probably about 80/20 vintage and modern. I was super into collecting from Base until about the end of DP era/beginning of HGSS, so most of my collection reflects that.
Most of my modern is just from my occasional pack ripping, once in a while I’ll grab a modern single I think is cool.
I am not sure. I guess the prerelease stuff could be considered both?
Base set and a bit of one off cards. Modern I sometimes buy the card if I really like the art work
A lot of xy, so vintage
90% vintage, 10% modern. 151 is the most modern I’ve purchased yet.
Mainly vintage but new purchases have been more shared between them since i don’t have that many vintage cards anymore i still need. Even though vintage is on whole different level for me there’s too much great art for cheap prices in nowdays modern art rares and even bulk cards to not include them in some side collections
The better question is how are we supposed to keep track of you when your avatar keeps changing?
Mainly vintage. However, some artist, species, and unique art collections include modern. I amend my original statement to both.
