What do you do with old Plastic Sleeves?

I stay away from reusing dirty sleeves, as others have mention the dirt, etc collected can cause damage to your cards and makes even a ok looking card look bad. I throw them away.

Actually I think I’ve never received sleeves that are dirty? I always reuse all the sleeves I get. But if I got dirty sleeves I would probably throw them away.

Same for me. I still have hundreds of clean unused sleeves and toploaders in my drawer for when I sell / trade cards. I use the same sleeves for all my cards (all new), so all sleeves/toploaders I receive from sellers go into the drawer to re-use later on. EXCEPT for all dirty, sticky, scratched, etc. ones; those go into the plastic recycle bin.

Here in The Netherlands we separate everything for recycle purposes: plastic in one bin; paper/cardboard in another; garden/fruit/vegetable waste in another; and what’s left goes in a general bin. Although a lot of people, especially companies, don’t really care and have a general garbage bin for everything.

Same here, I have a box I keep them in and reuse them when I’m selling. I have a specific sleeve I like to use for my own cards in my binder.

@xzini well, like greasy ones you have to wash hands after touching. They feel dirty.
@quuador Good work on recycling. Ofc, the drawers of toploaders and plastic supplies.

lol @merciersj - remove the nice penny sleeve, send from box of gross sleeves, gotcha

A tenth of a penny. Financially…so what?
And, the earth has been here for 4 1/2 BILLION years. It’ll be here another 4 billion years.

I think the only important thing here is questioning the ability to recycle old plastic sleeves.

Yer no one wants to re use sleeves that may damage their cards or are sticky from something un-imaginable.

The world is shit show for plastic and the world will find a way to continue for 4 billion years. However the younger generations wont be able to appreciate or experience some things you may have, but don’t worry i’m sure someone else will sort it, right?

I throw away all dirty penny sleeves. However if I buy a card that is sent in a cardsaver, I’ll keep the penny sleeve and use my own cardsaver. I also tend to try and keep most toploaders, as long as all sticky residue can be cleaned off. Otherwise, in the bin.

In regard to the next 400 years, without consciousness recycling efforts, it may be even dirtier then the card sleeves. Is that what we want now? A world of dirt?

Recycling is good.

You have motivated me to recycle dirty plastic. Good job.
