I’ve held this opinion long before I saw your grades. Your experience reminded me that people don’t know how pregrade and make a stink over it.

Only thing on the card. I didnt expect a 10 lol but a 6.5 is ridiculous, and for 2 cards, which multiple people have said it was a weird grade.
Multiple people in this forum and on the discord have said a 6.5 is undeserved, and I’ve mentioned that I knew it probably wasnt going to get a ten, but the chance of getting a 6.5 twice on both cards without any major dents or creases or whitening (major, nobunga had some whitening on the top and bottom, I had to zoom in a lot though for it).
I dont look at the cards for 5 seconds and say “Yep, thats a 10” and send it, I check the front centering and surface first from front and a tilted angle with and without light, I then check back centering, making sure to look at the corners and whitening, and I make sure to shine a light on it also. I mostly then ask if its a 10 on a discord or forums (really not needed, but they usually help see things that I dont see) and then I make sure that I didn’t miss anything.
I definetly know how to pregrade so they dont get a 6.5 lmao, 2 times in a row is insane too and I cracked the slab and checked it once again. Only thing I found wrong was that factory cut on the ray (they actually cleaned the spot off with a cloth somehow, because I have pictures of it with some dust and I took a gamble to see if they would wipe it, dont ask why lmao) and the whitening on the nobunga (bottom right corner had no damage but I could see slight whitening on top and bottom.
Its litterally the first quote in this post this is how I know your just nitpicking and not looking at anything lmao.
Factory cut is still damage. It’s still a dent in the card.

They did mention that the bottom left could be a dent, but it was pretty questionable to even themselves.

People can’t pregrade.
As a QA guy, it always bugged me how many QA “professional” miss obvious things. Attention to detail is often a trained skill, but it also requires that you WANT to have that finesse. 
To add my 2 denarius: I always thought factory damage was typically still damage.

My unpopular opinion: putting named human characters on cards (aside from owner’s pokemon) was a complete mistake and should never be done again.

That’s not the point. You said there was nothing wrong with the card and what do you know, there was an imperfection you missed. You even acknowledged you missed it.
My opinion still stands. People don’t know how to pregrade and miss obvious issues with the card

You make a opinion → I counter → you try to counterract my argument with self imposed opinions and assumptions → I shut them down with facts and evidence → you dont respond to any of the major points and instead filter out responses to make the best outcome for yourself.

Thats all this pokemon hobby is at this point: Arguments, Market, Profit, and Scams.
My love for rayquaza has slowly been fading everyday and now I’m just going with the flow. No use worrying about all of that now, just gotta go with the flow until the “bubble” is over and I can just go back to collecting.
Idk, it’ll probably change after a while, but with no new rayquaza releases or anything really exciting the hobby is just…empty lol

The hobby is what you make it. You mentioned the negatives with the current hype boom. You can zone out most of that stuff by not doing social media or youtube. It’s pretty chill here in comparison to anything else.
As for your fading love for Rayquaza - that is disappointing to hear. What is causing that? Just because the Gold Star went from unaffordable to really unaffordable, does that even change anything? If Umbreon PLAY went from 40k to 200k, it changes nothing for me. Still a broke dude collecting cardboard

Its not even that, we havent had any new rayquaza cards or releases, there aren’t many collectors that shared my love, there are very few cards at my lcs, and I havent bought anything for my collection because everything is so expensive. Ray Pop 1 is 40 bucks, it was 10 bucks months ago. I can’t keep up and honestly I’m tired of doing it.
