I’ve become a big enjoyer of Uninori over the last year, I really love their Sugimori inspired style.

Also huge fan of @crindy although their cards can be difficult to come by in the wild.

Saw a few crindy cards at a con this weekend, crazy how much they’ve bloomed in the past year

One of my favorite artists is one I rarely see anyone else mention - Miki Kudo. I really love the cartoony style and I can always pick her cards out instantly.

She has around 60 cards, and usually gets 1 per new set so always getting to add to the binder but not hard to keep up with. First set she appears in is Generations so mostly not cost prohibitive, but it does include the Charizard ex line from 151 which is a cost if you’re trying to complete her work.

This Slowpoke is her latest card!

Posted him before but Nakamura is CRIMINALLY overlooked.

It’s sad because vintage resellers love pumping his stuff, but I rarely hear actual praise for him. In my eyes he’s one of the best artists from the EX era

I know they didn’t do a lot of cards but I’m a big fan of Habu.

Totally agree - she has my favorite art on a few Pokémon. I also really like her tentacruel

Really enjoying Taiga Kayama’s work. Earliest work were Obsidian Flames’ Skwovet and 151’s Chansey and has 3 full arts with Vanillish, Clive and Rotom (my current favorite of theirs). Really love how fun and cartoon-y they are.

What I am learning is there are a lot of artists that have a lot of great artwork outside of the ones I normally gravitate towards (namely, the OG artists). I love threads like this that expand my palette!

I don’t know if she would be underrated, but I’m a fan of sui. She has done over 200 cards! Personally, I would describe her art style as soft.

Idk that she is underrated, given she’s illustrated some of iconic cards in eseries

That’s certainly true, however I barely hear people actively talking about her and her arts, so in my opinion still underrated.

Would Harada count as under appreciated? I see a lot of praise for the promo Jirachi but not much else for one of the most prolific EX era illustrators
