Welcome to Elite Fourum Thread

Hey, everyone!

I’m Glenn. I’m from California but have lived in Japan for about 20 years. I’ve been involved with Pokemon since just shortly after it was launched, and for many years ran a website called pocketmonsters.com, which is where many of the first wave of overseas collectors got their Japanese cards. (If you remember buying a Birthday Pikachu for $20 including the calendar from some guy in Japan in the late 1990s, it was probably me!) I also ran an actual toy store in Tokyo for many years.

My Pokemon collection consists of several nifty items, including a Tropical Mega Battle No. 1 Trainer and a no-rarity-symbol Pikachu card personally autographed for me by Ikue Otani.

In my spare time, I publish award-winning books

Yeah, I know I’ve been here for about a year, so I’m not exactly a “new” member. But since elam suggested older members should post, too, I did.

HI; I’m Nick! I’m 22 years old and live in Massachusetts, U.S.A.

I’m into collecting the Wizards of the Coast (WotC) era Pokemon cards/items; especially booster packs and theme decks. I’m currently in the process of trying to acquire every WotC booster pack and theme deck - currently only about 1/4 acquired.

I was also pretty big into buying/selling Pokemon cards/items on eBay. However, with school getting tougher and my lack of time, I’ve decided to shut down my eBay Business. I’m going to be listing 99% of that inventory via auction in the coming days, I’ll provide a link to my eBay Store if you’re interested in checking those auctions out:

Good idea Glenn… I’ll do it as well

My name is Gerald, I’m 21 and live in Switzerland… I’ve been amazed by trophy cards since I first saw a Victory Mew on ebay in 2005. That card is the reason why I now own quite a lot of trophy cards

Bonjour @frenchy! Welcome to the forum!
Don’t worry about the language barrier we’re quite international here and I think everyone is sympathetic about it. If I remember correctly I think I have bought something from you before!

Hello, I’m Rohan (22 years old and not from Middle Earth). I live in Wales with my beautiful 2.5 year old daughter.

I joined the forum in 2013, but could not regularly participate. I got into Pokemon in 1999 and never stopped loving it. It was only in 2012 though that I discovered these wonderful communities, after I resolved to start collecting TCG again.

My collection is comprised of the original generation of Pokemon (classic wotc and old-back Japanese cards). Once the main sets are done, and my 102 PSA 10 base set is complete, I hope to expand into quirky/rare Japanese promos under the guidance of you guys at UPCCC

Other than Pokemon, I play classical piano and drums. With luck I’ll be starting a biomedical science degree in autumn.

Welcome to the forum Rohan! I hope you find this site has lots to offer and I look forward to your contributions! I thought it was cool reading your post, I have some parallels with you!

I started collecting in 1999 also, my collection also comprises of classic WOTC and old-back Japanese cards, I am working on a 102 card PSA 10 base set, I love the quirky and rare Japanese promos, I play classical piano (well technically I play miscellaneous piano now, but I played classical piano up until the end of High School about 4yrs ago), and finally I am currently enrolled in a biomedical science program.

It’s almost uncanny :open_mouth:

Best of luck with everything @eleutherarch!!

No way!

I play a lot of contemporary stuff too. It’s like I’m a carbon copy of you. This requires a more in depth conversation, although I’m not sure this thread is the place to do it.

What area of biomed are you specialising in (anatomy, molecular biology etc)?

Drop me a quick PM . And at my school, Biomed itself is a specialty of biology (it has the usuals; basic 1st year courses across the sciences, biochemistry, organic chemistry, anatomy/physiology, microbiology, animal diversity etc), but I’ve supplemented with a lot of biochemistry and immunology with my electives.

Those similarities between Jason and Rohan are absolutely unbelievable.
Separated at birth maybe? Lol

(I have just noticed this topic today …)

Hello, I’m Henri and I’m 22 years old.
I come from France (this explains my poor english ) and I’m currently student in engineer school (in nuclear field).

I started my collection nearly 2 years ago (when I rediscovered cards of my chilhood), and now I have a relatively big collection (for a student budget) !
Nevertheless, I’m a small collector in comparison of all your collections (which are so beautiful)

I’m collecting only WOTC cards and japanese Promo cards, and as I’m French I have a lot of french cards !
My cards are in MINT condition but are not graded. Indeed, I’m not interested to grade my cards because I love to watch my cards in binders (or sealed).

Soon, I will take pictures of my japanese Promo collection in order to post them here

Hello name is Matt, used to collect alot when was younger, just recently started re-collecting.

Are you re-collecting new sets, or older sets?

Mixture  whatever I can obtain really, haha

Welcome Vodka and good luck:)

Thank you and Hello

Hey guys,
I’m a dude collecting Japanese sets and promos, I buy all the sets in Japanese as they come out and try to pick out the best cards of the days gone past and put them in PSA cases. I’m hoping to meet people who can help me collect cards I want to collect and have a jolly time on the way!
