Weighing Wotc Blisters

Hello!

I know you can weigh separate booster packs but I am curious if you can weigh the single pack blisters? I’ve seen sellers on eBay advertising them as “guaranteed unweighted”. So does that mean that they can be?

You can weigh anything. That’s the neat part about scales, they work wherever there is gravity

Nothing is “guaranteed unweighed” – that’s a steaming pile of poo-poo.

Ive got a ex series blister with an old price sticker on it. I like to lie to myself that it makes it harder to weigh but I really have no idea. I’m sure the price of these stickers have been figured out or you could just take it off and weigh the blister than put it back on.

I think what the sellers are alluding to by “guaranteed unweighed” in that case is that because it is sealed in the blister, the pack can’t have been weighed; not that the blister itself hasn’t been weighed. From what I’ve heard, unless you have a case of WOTC blisters it is near impossible to weigh out the heavies, and even then somewhat unreliable

This was already extensively discussed here :

The TLTR is that, unless a blister pack is extraordinarily (i.e. unicorn) light or heavy, it cannot be said with complete certainty that the pack it contains is (respectively) light or heavy. The heavier the better, but we cannot quantify at all how better. Is 34g a lot better than 33g or a little better? We can’t tell.

Blister packs taken from a same case and stored the same way can be weighted, but it is presumed that this practice wasn’t commonplace (at least for Base 1st) and, therefor, blister packs in the wild should be close to 1/3 chance at heavy.
