A few announcements: I FINALLY got my mom to start a collection, which is herd at the top. I’ve been dreaming of times like this.
And no, your eyes dont deceive you, I FINALLY GOT THEE EVOLVING SKIES RAYRAY RAHHHHHHH
Not only that, but its a NM copy for a very very VERY good deal! I was jumping for joy and victory screaming in the car with my mom just beaming.We had the best time ever, and now without further ado, time to update the collection.
And with the added 3 graded cards, I have almost 3 pages!

Seeing how happy you get really brings me back to memories of collecting cards as a kid and as a teen. I’m so happy that your mom is supportive of your hobby and that you two have this shared interest. I’m also glad that you’re documenting these moments together - they will become that much more meaningful in the future. Congrats, Vert!

We got some more cards!
Me: I got a rayquaza V from evolving skies, helping me complete my 3rd binder page (3 graded cards I still need to crack) and I also got a deoxys (now you may be asking why I bought it, dont worry about it 
)
Mom: Finally completed her 2nd binder page! She really likes the full art variation of cards along with vmaxs and cute full arts! She really seems to take a liking to morpeko and fidough.

Just a little update, our next purchase will be the Rayquaza Goldstar card. In HP condition it goes for about 1000 Dollars, so I’ll have to start saving. I’m restricting purchases to 0 until we get the card
This is litterally gonna be a nightmare. I’m gonna have to sell everything that I have in order to fund this (besides my regular rayquaza collection)

Use this thread to hold yourself to account on your goal. Post regular updates when you reach new savings milestones, eg. $200, $250, etc. It will also be fun to look back on when you finally reach that goal.

Reached 300+ Milestone, might drop down to 200 because of owing mom money lol
I’ve done the numbers, and even if I sell everything and hold on to my collection, I’ll barely reach 1,000. This goal might be impossible unless I sell stuff from my rayquaza collection sadly, and I really dont wanna let go of those things…

Maybe pick up some tutoring hours to help people out locally! I’d rather you get to keep your collection and get a new card but up to you!!

I dont exactly think I’ll be able to get a rayquaza goldstar in any condition for $1,200. This card might be outta reach:
So far I’ve saved about $350 for the card.
I did find out my rayquaza has a holo bleed error across the ENTIRE front of the card. Might sell it to boost my chances, otherwise I’ll have to make tough decisions…

Also, you have to believe: RAY RAY is still possible. Keep saving, and when the opportunity will arise you’ll be ready

This is a good exercise in delayed gratification. It’s not out of reach Vert, the worst case is it that it might take a little longer to reach the goal. This is your holy grail card so do your best not to lose focus and if possible try to find other ways to earn or generate cash in the mean time.

Relax, dude. The hunt and journey is half the fun of collecting. Also, if you’ve already saved 300 bucks, that’s pretty solid for less than a week. You’ll be there before you know it.
Finally, get a copy you’re happy with. Even if it’s going to take a while longer and be a little more expensive. It’s your grail card so don’t just take a copy that looks like it went through the washing machine because it’s the first one you can afford.

Mom wants me to pay for shipping now for my orders, it’s so over…
Money might be cut down drastically due to other reasons. Sales have also been going too fast, I recently ran out of envelopes lol.
I’m not gonna update everyday, but everything has been going so fast lately…
