Using PayPal credit/0% APR to long position cards?

My method has been to find deals for flipping and use the profit to acquire a card I want.

If I can turn a profit on a card in a 14 day timeframe, an I really missing out on that much by not buying the card I want day one? Maybe. But in my case, I’m not paying that much more for it, 3 weeks later.

I’d say in good faith that if the person bought the cards today he would see profit in the future but that future could very likely be past the 0% APR promotion.

I don’t believe anyone is uneducated on the flipping mindset. That is how I got decent cards early on with this Covid boom. My comment was to offer the opinion that many were neglecting due to it not fitting your personally opinions. It is best to see both sides of the coin when passing the judgement.

I personally took a small loan in June which gave me a 40% roi so I can’t hate on it. It was worth the risk to me at the time based on what I was looking for. Now, I do not feel comfortable enough with anything in mind to go for another loan so I am back to staying with my card budget.

Sorry, didn’t mean to come off as judging at all.

Everyone is free to take on risk as they see fit.

Leverage or debt can be an amazing tool. You are right, it can certainly pay off. There just has to be a greater understanding of the risk.

Does this “feel” like a stable economic time for everyone given all that’s going on in the world right now, unemployment, COVID, the state of the planet, and in the US in particular with upcoming elections and all the political unrest and divisions?? People are desperate to feel optimistic and “trending in the right direction” about just about anything right now. It’s like “nah nah nah can’t hear you” and denial is what constitutes “optimism” these days. It’s nothing close to what true empowerment or resolve feels like. We even got a first hand glimpse of how easily the supply chain can get interrupted and prove once again that more people panic than stay calm, so the masses will always “panic” as a whole. And panic and the economy works against 99% of the population, just a matter of how many can survive if not thrive until the next recovery. Not trying to be Debbie Downer here, but come on…I’ve been alive for a lot going back to growing up during Vietnam, but you talk to most people my age and they will agree this feels “different” than anytime before with the convergence of so many factors that makes this feel we are right at a tipping point.

Even if “we” as the 99% are in it together if it goes to hell quickly, it’s more likely to not be that extreme. This is musical chairs, so just make sure you can survive it if the music stops. It’s already been tough enough on those who might not even remember September 11th and the lack of anything even moderately concerning since then, yet still have had a brutal go of it to establish themselves. So I can understand seizing opportunities that present themselves, but don’t get yourself behind before you even start. And no, this is probably not targeted to the core of efour, but those newer lurkers. But what do I know, you shouldn’t even trust anyone over 30, and since that IS the core of efour, you should absolutely ignore the advice of this whole forum in general!

Bro just do it. Just because many people are more risk averse, for you to consider it and ask it then your investor profile and aversion to risk is different and more tolerable. The wealthiest and I mean stupid wealthy individuals only got there by using other people’s money. Scared money make no money!

Just read the fine print I never applied for it but make sure it’s a true 0% APR what the details of the terms are, etc. You can buy junk silver on eBay free shipping for a lot less than spot. I imagine if I ran the numbers and the simulation I’d figure out how to leverage this interest free cash to buy something that will in the very near future meet the bid over and above what I paid.

And PayPal credit works everywhere not just eBay… there’s many places I see it… see what you get approved for, go on Dave and Adams. Find a bunch of stuff you think will hold value or are underpriced, send them an email with an offer. If they accept pay PayPal credit.

Once you receive the slabs, go on FB make some posts and hosts some razzes. Tack on a 50% premium to what you paid for. Razz all the slabs you got for the 5-10k, and make an extra 2500-5000$ passively. Don’t declare anything, accept cashapp only and bam! You got yourself a 5 figure side income. As things start rolling (no pun intended), scale up until you can make 10k/mo. Have fixed days of the week where people know you’ll be doing these raffles and voila. 6 figure side income all done for the cost of your time and 0% interest provided by PayPal.

—> in all seriousness, if it’s not a crazy amount and you’re not some degenerate gambler type of personality, then try it out what do you have to lose? The “race to the bottom” is pretty finite and as long as you’re not deciding on putting 2-5k on a first edition charmander or Squirtle or non holo muk, which might be more likely to retrace then you should be fine… buying up pack fresh promos or sought after chase singles, grading them, etc. Then you should be ok.

Now, I’ll leave you with a bit of knowledge that isn’t exclusive to Pokemon, but where I can see using PayPal credit on eBay can be profitable, research "retail arbitrage eBay to amazon” so if you can find things that sell for cheap on eBay but sell for more on amazon (and that actually sell — you can learn all this online or on YT) then essentially it’s as if you have a business line of credit to finance inventory to free up working capital.

Thanks for the advice. just maxed out 3 new 0% APR credit cards + PayPal credit. Air never felt so fresh in my life.
