1500 yen doesn’t sound right ![]()
Maybe I missaw then. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t looking at Registered Small Package, but no way to tell now.
I hope this is the outcome! I have people wanting to consign but can’t ship, along with items stored at buyee. I wonder if they will extend the holding period like they did during Covid.
The hits just keep coming. So it appears that buyee is going to be charging 20% upfront to cover Duty Paid. Although Japan is a 15% tariff, Buyee is going to charge 20% for the time being due to Tariff uncertainty. Hard one ![]()
New changes to ECMS (c:@beccazican )
Ah, maybe that explains the jump I saw in my Buyee Air Delivery cost. The math works out roughly correctly.
If the Buyee Air Delivery becomes DDP, in some cases, it can probably be beneficial, as (I think) it avoids brokerage fees by the shipping carriers and possibly the surprise odd $80-per-item tariff tag on (for countries with <16% tariffs). For expensive items/packages, the extra 5% could hurt a bit though.
Edit: After @koala’s post, everything is just getting confusing again
But it looks like the cheaper ECMS shipping (but with 20% tariffs added) would be beneficial for low-cost packages.
It looks like FromJapan has officially started culled their shipping options.
I’m beating myself up over not shipping this out a week ago when everything arrived at the warehouse.
So which one from these four is going screw me over the least?
I assume this in turn causes some new premium for domestic product in hand?
probably UPS tbh. Ive had the least problems from them of your available options
I’m aware that this won’t affect many of you, but considering that there’re people searching Latin American Spanish cards, I think it’s worth mentioning the following:
Serpost (Peru’s Post Mail) has announced that they are going to suspend temporarily shippings destined for USA or Puerto Rico due to “external customs measures” starting on 27th August 2025.
I wonder if other countries have temporarily suspended shippings to Puerto Rico as well … ![]()
Australia has. Apparently they fall under the same customs jurisdiction or something like that.
I have a card that I asked someone in the US to help me reholder at psa , will be shipped back to me possibly in the middle of September. My concern is if I use UPS to ship back to me from US to Canada, are there any disruptions I will have to deal with ?
That’s good news, but it will still take a while for the extra tariff charges to be lifted. Everything is so uncertain and unstable right now. The damage has already been done.
Wanted to confirm any shipments coming to Canada from US if using UPS or Fedex will be fine?
All of mine deliver but you pay tariffs.
Thank you ![]()
Even if IEEPA tariffs get struck down by Supreme Court they will all just come back via section 201, 232 and 301 of the trade acts of 1962 and 1974 so these are all here to stay.
