So i sold an item that arrived in the UK. It was a blister pack and I paid around $13 shipping which is what I’ve always paid for shipping for 2-4 ounces. I usually pay for an extra ounce up because i’ve had this happen before.
It’s saying the full postage wasn’t paid. It’s asking for an additional 16 pounds on top of what i’ve paid to deliver it.
Is this just customs that the post office is saying it’s postage. iv’e had that happen before. I need opinions on
what to do as this happens with the UK only.
Could be a customs charge accidentally labelled as a full postage not paid charge. What was the value you put on the package for customs purposes? They’ll charge an £8 handling fee for customs charges, not sure if the same applies to ‘sender didn’t pay full postage’ but that means the actual fee would be about £7.
No problem. Yeah I’m like 95% certain that it is a customs charge and probably just an employee mistake inputting the wrong information on the label, but the actual fee is probably accurate (if annoying and extortionate). They use the exact same grey leaflet thing for customs charges (it’ll be a red one if you just have to pick something up without a fee).
