UK Middleman help

Hi all,

I need a hand to get a parcel to Australia that won’t cost a million dollars:

@vae has offered to ship a package to me, but postage came out to 120 Euros (it’s the english southern islands set) would anyone in the UK be willing to recieve this package, and ship it to me? I’m hoping it’d cost less to send to Australia from the UK.

If anyone could give us some advice on this, that’d be great.

Thanks!

do you have the specifications and weight of the parcel? signed and tracked? and where in Australia? Any prefered postage method?
That can help us guys in the UK calc pricing etc for shipping

If you still need help with this then on me.

Thanks guys - I’ve asked Vae for the parcel specs so we can see how much it’ll be to ship from the UK. Thanks for the offers!

Ok great, no problem! Let us know when you do and we can try work something out for you.

Hi guys, the dimensions of the box that it would be sent in are 33 x 17 x 24, and it weighs about a kilo. I also have more Southern Islands sealed English sets if anyone’s interested btw

Deleted initial reply. Second attempt, because I got it all backwards.

The Royal Mail Small Parcel pricing is just shy of 70 quid.

Small Parcel dimensions

Minimum size: One surface must be at least 9cm x 14cm.
Maximum size: The combined length + width + depth must be no more than 90cm with no single side longer than 60cm
Maximum weight: 2kg

A normal parcel goes for same price actually but is insured for higher value and can weight more then 2kg.
This is their worldwide fee from the UK to Australia. And this is a 5 day shipping.

Funny enough, I can ship a parcel up to 2kg to Australia from the Netherlands for € 25,95 with an € 250 insurance build in. The Belgium post will charge € 48,79 for the same package.

The € 120,00 postage for an item weighting like 1 kilo is insane and the only thing I can imagine is that’s is some super secure expensive UPS/DHL/FedEx speed service.

Come on. For € 120,00 euro I can ship a pallet of 1000kilo from my town to Madrid xD

Erm i think that £70 one is the most expensive one. You can send for as cheap as £8.50 from my calculations but International tracked is probably the best option at £18.10.

what is the value of the parcel please?

whatever way it issent, it’s no where near £110 ish/ 120Euro from here

I really have to get my eyes checked. I checked again and yeh, it’s no where close to the 70 quid I mentioned.

But, as I pointed out. I can ring any local trucking company and ship an euro-pallet with max 1000 kilo on it for 120 euro from the Netherlands to Spain. 120 euro for a 1kg binder is incredible expensive. If that was listed on eBay, or an eBay seller sending me this I would flag him up as a scammer that is making money on shipping due to selling the item under his expectation.

thats within Europe though so the price is alot cheaper between brders than Air mail etc  120 is wayy too much though…hence wanting to send to the uk then Aus which is cool beans

I’ve once shipped 2 cases to Australia and wasn’t even close to 120 euro.

But we now all calculating shipping from the UK to Australia, but where is the item being shipped from originally?

Hi again guys, turns out y’all were completely right, it turns out I had been consulting a premium express service this whole time without knowing. The actual national postal system of Spain, Correos, charged me only €26 between packaging, shipping and tracking to send the box to skinst’s US address.

So it’s all sorted now, but thanks a lot for the help (and especially for making me take the original ridiculous prices with a grain of salt :stuck_out_tongue:)
