UK Collectors - Where do you buy Card Savers from?

These look very promising Thanks for this!

Has anyone received any yet? I’m wondering about the dimensions of the semi rigids as the BCW SR2 ones i bought were a little to small to cover the whole of a booster pack like a card saver 1 does. Also do the graded card sleeves they sell fit there semi rigids inside?

No worries! I’ve seen a few people get theirs already but I keep forgetting to place my order so I’m not too sure. Pretty sure you can message them on their website through facebook messenger and also they are very active on instagram so you could try asking them there.

Graded Gem over in the UK just recently started selling semi rigids. I saw an advertisement on one of there you tube videos. They are called Grade fit.

Might be worth looking into?

Edit: Oops sorry please disregard my post, I didn’t realize it was already mentioned

But did GradedGem did the product development for these or he just promoting them?

They seem really expensive. £34.99 seems like a massive rip off, especially as it probably only costs them around £1 or so to manufacture these, if that. The most I’ve ever paid for a pack of 200 on Amazon was £20.94 and that was back in 2018 - in 2019 I paid £14.99 and in January this year I paid £19.60 per box of 200:

All of these had free postage, too.

Personally I’d just wait until one of those sellers lists some up on Amazon and until then just use top loaders instead. You can even pick them up on eBay from time to time from the US or Canada and pay less than what this Grade Fit company are charging even with customs and import taxes.

I think people are just taking advantage of the current shortage. They do seem really expensive for what they are but at the moment there is very little choice.
One of the sellers “docsmagic” has some on Amazon now but his price has increased to £37.22 :stuck_out_tongue:
I have not ordered any myself yet but do need to pick some up at some point unless i find another solution in the meantime.

Yes they developed the cardsavers themselves, I confirmed it with Connor. He said they designed them, sourced the correct plastics and found someone to manufacture them.

I think in normal circumstances you would be right. As there appears to be a shortage though I guess this could be a competitive price in the current market. Checking amazon for the ultra pro semi-rigids like you mentioned above they are listed at £37.

Additionally as they have only recently developed these they maybe trying to make back costs on time, resourcing, development etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if they lower the prices in the future to remain competitive with other manufacturers/sellers.

I am in the UK and also just received the BCW SR2 semi rigid, I cant for the life of me get my cards in them as they are so tight. They are abit smaller 1cm or so than the card savers as youve said. I feel Im going to damage the card, it gets about 1/2 way in then I can only but push hard on the top of the card. How did you do it?

Sorry Matt I don’t remember having any problems getting the cards in although i did have them in perfect fit sleeves which may have helped, I wouldn’t advise any sort of method or how-to over a message board just in case a card is damaged by accident.
If you have trouble with them maybe go for a few dry runs with a random bulk card to test different methods of getting it in there without risk, Failing that if you are uncomfortable with them it might be worth sending them back for a refund and waiting for an alternative or a restock to come of the others. I since sold the BCW ones on again and took a loss (didn’t feel right returning them) since i do not grade cards at the moment and only wanted them for booster pack storage but the SR2 were a little too small for that.

Those new Gradefit that have been mentioned look good but i have not got around to ordering any yet, Ideally would like more info from someone who has bought them before going further.

Thanks for the reply, Yer I did try with less valuable cards. I was using sleeves and it was them catching. I noticed your sleeves were more snug to the card so its probably the use of the perfect fit sleeves that made it possible. I did contact the seller and they were very good, they said you cant use sleeves inside them. And apparently you dont need to as they dont damage the card but its not how I want to do it. They offered for me to return them and buy the next size up, but they are out of stock of them at the moment

Thanks for this thread OP, I have the exact same predicament! We really get shafted in the UK LOL. Some great suggestions here though those BCW’s seem a pretty good alternative.

The seller of the BCW #2 reached out to me and said you need the BCW #1s for using sleeves in side. They dont have any in stock at the moment (yay) but just to let people know to buy the #1s they are 4.25 x 3.25’’ instead of #2s of which are 4x3’’

I picked up 5 boxes from Amazon on Sunday for £17.28 each. I’d normally only buy 1 box every few months, but at least these should last me a while.

Looks like they only have 2 left today and they’re bounced up to £25.26 which is sneaky, but I can’t imagine the prices would have gone down to £17 if they didn’t have lots more available - especially when people were actually buying them for the £37 they were last month! I wonder if this means supply is somewhat back to normal?

At any rate, I’m glad I didn’t pick any up for over £30. Patience is a virtue.

I have bought them and are pretty much card saver 1 size, they have the extra room opposed to ultra pros tighter fit.

Nice pick up, the only problem I have with them is the size. I don’t like the tight fit of ultras…I prefer the extra space.

They look very promising although they are out of stock now like the rest of them lol…

I would of purchased some myself earlier but i never got round to getting my bank card out when im at home. If they had PayPal as payment option i would of bought them straight away.

By the way do you know if there card savers fit inside there resealable bags?

I would like to use card savers as a rigid back for protection of a bagged booster pack.

I wouldn’t have thought so, they are for psa slabs so will be a perfect fit for the slabs. The gradefit card holders are over-sized like cs1 to give extra space. I can check when I get home from work (I have perfect fit and some ultra pro graded card sleeves) I would say no they wont, but cannot say for sure.

Be back in stock early October, and never out of stock again!
