It just doesn’t make sense to me when you can get tracking for under $3 via first class in most cases. Spend $3 to assure that you can keep your money and avoid having the buyer come back with a “never received it” and you’ve got no way to back it up. Out the money and the item now.
It’s only up to you to take the chance on giving them a try but I’m with the majority here and agreeing they’re junk. I’m a 3 strikes type of guy and all 3 of my orders contained at least one creased card and most of the other “nm” card were so scratched up I didn’t even put them in my binder, I just ended up putting them in a bulk lot that I would end up tossing on eBay to get the money back and re buying those cards on eBay to fill the spaces in my binder. My 2 cents save yourself the time and just go else where
To us 60.00 may seem like a lot but when you ship 50 packages a day that 3.00 adds up. Also figure you paid 65.00 but he probably paid 5.00 for it (cause he buys huge lots for pennies each) so it’s negligible to him.
So like I mentioned earlier, he knows exactly what he’s doing;)
I live in Australia. They are pretty much my only option for buying bulk cards for collections. If I didn’t I would be paying thousands extra in postage to get singular cards that are only slightly better in condition. I’d say 80% are of a quality that is acceptable to me in a binder, another 15% I let slide. If I get a real bad one, I tell them, if they don’t care I just buy it again.
Edit: Regarding packaging. I usually have hundreds of cards per order. Pricier singles often come in toploaders. Smallish orders come in a team bag with 1 toploader at the front. Big bulk orders comes unsleeved in a big box or multiple magic deck boxes. Have only had one order damaged during shipping out of many.
I’ve bought cards from them a plethora of times. I actually really like Troll and Toad. Every time I buy from them I specify in the thing to have the cards toploaded in penny sleeves; I get them safe every time. The NM cards have always been NM for me, maybe a couple more nicks on the back than I’d care to have but nothing major at all. All of my orders individually have been less than $30 but I have spent at least $100 to round of my newer sets (don’t even try to mess with their older items that aren’t listed individually with ‘see picture’) and it’s been (over) $100 well spent. If you think you’re grading cards that a website lists as NM (already expecting PSA 7 range) and does not even have pictures for you’re out of your goddamn mind but if you want some full arts for your binder it’s a solid experience (at least for me).
I have had 7 orders from troll and toad, all smooth and no worries. I live in the UK so my orders get here around 2-3 weeks after paying. The packages were all shipped from Sweden* and i dont know why but apparently i have never paid a pence on custom charges. The way TnT packed cards is they tend to fit 5-8 cards inside one soft sleeve and into a team bag with a toploader on the front inside the team bag and tape. Their quality of near mint has never been below a near mint for me so far, even got an ex dragon charmeleon in at least a PSA8 condition. Maybe luck is on my side so far and i am waiting on my 8th order. They really helped out a ton with my display collection and my binder collection. I dont buy from them with the intention of grading the cards though.
@chok That’s very strange, one of my Troll and Toad orders came through Switzerland for some reason (I live in Finland). This caused problems with customs to me because I was actually expecting a package from Switzerland that time and my Troll And Toad order arrived before that and customs asked me to pay taxes for it, but their paper only had “Switzerland” as the sender. Of course I thought it was the other order of mine so I paid a lot of extra to get my cards. I ordered some booster packs that time and paid customs as if it was a jacket which I ordered from Switzerland D: But no, they were my booster packs from the US…
I believe mine is also from Switzerland(gonna edit my last post). I believe TnT outsourced their shipping methods to Switzerland for financial purposes catering for countries near and within the EU? Just my guess though.
Personally i feel like i got good deals on T&T, I buy with the purpose to keep cards in a binder so dont need Mint cards but i feel everything ive bought has been PSA 7 to 9 even maybe a couple 10’s and this is from Jungle, Fossil and Rocket.
@shizzlemetimbers I purchased Rayquaza Gold Star from Collectors cache and it received a PSA 10! However i have bought many full arts from TnT such as Venusaur, Latios and Rayquaza and all have received PSA 10.
Buying from TnT is the equivalent of playing the lotto. The chances of getting a mint card are definitely stacked against you; however, that’s not to say you can’t luck out and be pleasantly surprised. Just don’t buy from them expecting to hit some sort of jackpot and you’ll be fine.
