Base is listed at $629k, probably slightly lower than Jeremy’s total as the calc does some averaging if there’s been multiple recent sales of cards within a 30 day period.
Damage Swap was bad in base. You had a 30 HP basic and a terrible stage 2 with 3 retreat cost and an awful attack. That deck was just asking to lose on turn 1 or get gust of winded into oblivion. Pretty much all stage 2s were bad in base except for Blastoise.
It’s not really meaningful that Chansey can OHKO Hitmonchan but not the other way around. Zard can OHKO everything except for itself but Chansey but still sucked. What was great about Hitmonchan was 20 damage on turn 1. Chansey needed 2 turns to do damage, needed 2 DCEs (which you could have only 4 of in your deck), and could attack only twice before it KO’d itself.
Just in case there was any doubt, pretty much all of the PSA 10 1st edition Base Set holos from the last PWCC auction have already been archived, which means that they are confirmed to be paid for. That includes the Charizard for $295,300.
10 seconds? Lol I wish, I’ve been begging them, but change is hard to make happen. I think there will probably be something like 4 seconds between each of my PSA 10 1st ed Base Set Thick Stamp holos.
I plan on telling interested parties to create a Gixen account for snipe bids. It’s free to make an account and easy to use.
It’s certainly not a perfect solution since I know that some people would like some but not all of these cards and can’t just place snipes on everything.
As crazy as it sounds it’s still *possible* to participate manually with careful tab management. Just keep 16 open tabs (or however many of the cards you’re actually interested in) and manually enter the bidding amounts beforehand, and move through the tabs adeptly like a wizard.
I haven’t done this myself, but this is a Q&A from Gixen’s Website.
"Question*: Can I schedule group bids where the remaining bids are canceled once an item in the group is won, like eBay’s Bid Assistant?*
Answer*: Yes, simply choose a group number from the [Bid Group:] drop-down box. All items with the same group number will be grouped together and remaining bids canceled once an item in the group is won. Do not use Bid Assistant together with Gixen groups, these two are not compatible and using them both will cause your snipes to fail.*"
So it sounds to me like if you take the time to make different “Bid Groups” you can make sure that you only bid on certain items if you lose certain items.
Especially with PWCC, this disclaimer on Gixen is key:
*Warning: Bids you want to exclude each other should be in the same group. Do not group items that end within 2 minutes of each other. In doing so you may win them all.*As PWCC tends to group similar items together ending in a short period of time, the grouping feature has not served me well for PWCC in the past.
