The Great “Pokemon Hidden In Card Art” Thread

Just opened my tag team all star box - @quuador, you got this one already?

I don’t really collect cards featuring Pikachu, but I do indeed have that card, and it’s also mentioned in the Pikachu in artworks thread.

And lastly, more cave art! My guess the three Pokemon are Doduo, Vulpix/Ninetales, and Fearow.

Nice cave art! Pretty sure the Vulpix/Ninetales is a Tauros though
The ‘humans’ could also be a bunch of Mr. Mime’s for all we know haha

I’m gonna take it a step further and say it’s not cave art but actually a tattoo on a Snorlax belly.

Ah duh. Silly brain. And I’l support your Mr. Mime theory. Look, even the “Mr. Mime” by Eevee’s face is doing Mirror Coat.

There is a faceless Happiny next to the hand mirror, as well as a partial Lilligant in the artwork of Delcatty of the latest Darkness Ablaze set.

For those wondering why I’ve linked a German version, this card is also a misprint: Kaguron is the German name for Celesteela, whereas Delcatty should have been called Enekoro in German. Today I’ve heard they’ve corrected it a few days after release, but I haven’t seen the corrected version yet personally.

Here’s one that I bet no one else here has noticed:

There appear to be the backs of three walking Snorunts in the upper right portion of the art. At least I think they are?

I did know about the link between these two cards:

But I never noticed until now that the Bouffalant is approaching in the background of the Natu artwork.

EDIT: Apparently @azulryu had already posted this exact same thing 13 hours prior. :face_with_spiral_eyes: I swear I hadn’t seen the reddit post nor his post. I noticed the Bouffalant in the Natu artwork when I was making my list for the Week #10 Pokédex artworks.

I was just speaking about this on Discord, but sometimes you need to know about other cards in a set before you can really see other (parts of) Pokémon.

Here is Tauros from POP Series 2:

Can you spot the Entei? Maybe if you look closely, but it becomes more obvious if you also have the Entei card from POP Series 2 to compare it with:

Here are the two images overlapped with the more obvious Raikou included into the mix (both Raikou and Tauros had to be scaled down slightly):

Another possibly less obvious example of that is the HGSS22 promo Porygon card:

It’d be pretty easy to overlook the reflection of Porygon2’s foot, but fortunately HGSS23 shows us that the two artworks here connect to form a larger image:

@pichufan great find with that Tauros/Raikou/Entei artwork! Though I wonder what kind of business Tauros has with those legendary cool kids…

Anyway, here is another shared artwork. Way less sophisticated than yours and without any hidden Pokemon, but I haven’t seen it being mentioned yet.

The faint blush on Nidorina’s cheeks tells me they’re flirting in that scene

Shocking Volt Tackle finds!

I understand this Ninjask… he’s zoomin outside and the human is peeking from around the corner

but wtf did Shedinja do??? Did he kill the human??? Is this the first card to feature a dead human? This perspective is so disorienting

lil baby phanpy has a lil baby Teddiursa doll awww

@nish Definitely looks like he looked into the hole on the back of the shedinja. Very cool!

@thane! Incredible eye!

85% sure that is actually a skarmory as opposed to fearow

Who even looks closely at trainer cards?
Anyone collect marill?

Nice eye! Silhouetted Pokemon seem to be sneaky. I remember the one discovered for @pichufan a while back.

Been looking over Komiya art again and found some more, sorry if there’s repeats.

Noctowl is attacking a Diglett on the ground.

Unfezant is chasing Grubbin:

90% sure the Statues are of Rhydon/10% sure it’s Kangaskhan:

Komiya seems to love Diglett:

Pelipper, Tropius, and Wingull:

Lotad & Lombre:

Venomoth in the Sky:

Machop vs Oddish?

Those look like the statues in the Ruins of Alph to me, especially with the stone entrance leading out to a forest in the background

originally they were misc sprites

shown to clearly be Rhydon in hgss

and an outside map of Alph to show the surrounding forest

Not a pokemon and not that hidden, but the upcoming Voltorb from Amazing Volt Tackle is hanging out in the power plant.
