The "Goldlist" - Awesome Sellers and Traders

Hey guys, I think it would be a good idea to have somewhat of an opposite of “The Blacklist” where we can post about great experiences with sellers/traders/people in general. Admins, please feel free to remove this if we already have one and I’m just too clueless to find it. So, to get us started:

YouTube (Sellers/traders):

wakeruncollapse - Seller - One of my favorite Poketubers, this guy is just awesome. Great prices, prompt shipment, cards well protected, and very friendly. Always responds to PMs and is very trustworthy.

gogogogoat - Trader - Not that big of a guy, but I’ve traded twice with him with no issues. Cards well protected, shipped promptly, never lowballs and both times we’ve traded have been great.

eBay (sellers):

noodles1977000 - Great seller, has awesome bulk Japanese lots and most have free shipping. Cards are always well protected and if you can decipher his condition ratings (he doesn’t speak much english) then they’re spot on.

mpar2512 - Our own @hisoka107! Purchased my first PSA card from him, so maybe I’m a little biased. I’ve always had great experiences though. He broke up a set of PSA 9 EX Unseen Forces ultra rares so I could buy a PSA 9 Umbreon ex off of him. Happy with his service, shipping quality, and communication.

superb89 - Shipped a Lysandre’s Last Resort FA via FedEx Priority Overnight for free. Might not be much, but I thought it was really nice.

kool1349 - Another great Japanese eBay seller. Ships cards fast and usually free, and condition ratings are always correct.

Feel free to share your own great experiences with sellers/buyers/traders! And again, I apologize if we somehow already have this.

I have said it before, but the Poketube community is one of the most toxic and untrustworthy communities of Pokemon ‘enthusiasts’ out there. Yes, there are certain people on Youtube who are honest and trustworthy. But the community as a whole is nothing but bad news. I don’t usually have strong opinions, and much less post them here, but I don’t think any of the sellers/traders from that community should be promoted here.

As far as a Goldlist thread goes, it’s a great idea for actually established eBay sellers who many of us have had great experiences with(kool1349 has been a favourite of mine in the past, as well as a few other people here). However the specific ‘Selling’ section on this forum was recently taken away for what was ultimately a good reason. And I think having a thread like this kinda falls under that umbrella.

I am not an Admin obviously, so take that with a grain of salt. But I would say discuss a thread like this with the Admins first.

Not to sound selfish but sometimes if you have a personal favourite seller who has gone under the radar, you won’t always want to share it ;p

Very true

Howdy.

First, let me say that we (Administration) are super appreciative of your enthusiasm and your desire to contribute meaningful, lasting threads and content.

That said, I don’t think that this is something we can reasonably implement for a handful of reasons.

First, it would be one massive pat on the back. We already have as members here many of the largest, most recognized pokemon dealers around. We would have to put them all on the list for sure. And we don’t want to be conceited.

Second, there are existing disagreements over the legitimacy of such sources as youtube for effective dealing at all and those biases complicate an idea such as this. You’ve been quite clear about your involvement there, and that’s totally great for you, but I’d rather we not open that can of worms here. It has all been well worded and kind so far though, and I am grateful for that.

Third, we don’t promote selling here. The blacklist is a take it or leave it list of people that have proven themselves to be scammers or hazardous in one way or another. No one was added without sufficient physical proof of their negative practices. If even just I listed everyone I had a positive deal with, there would be hundreds of names. That’s not manageable.

So in summation, I think it is best we let references or feedback speak for itself for the established, longstanding sellers in the community. We personally aren’t a good medium for something like this. That’s not to say it’s a bad overall idea, but it isn’t suited best for here.

Looking forward to your continued participation!

While both sides have merits it simply doesn’t go with the direction th admits see for this community. The reason this community is different from the others is because of the type of direction , caliber of discussions and character of the members. That being said I’ve enjoyed the new topics you’ve tried putting forth.

I have mixed feeling on youtube even though I use it. I sell part time so it helps with exposure and also I get to make videos for people to enjoy. So I’m going to be biased. If you’ve spent some time on the different social media groups for pokemon collectors you might notice some trends. A lot of the collectors here have higher end, valuable and or rare cards and a lot of people here are very mature. Virbank city on Facebook is very “toxic and immature” from what I’ve heard. Craigslist and yotube are plagued with the most scammers. There is no real accountability even when thousands of dollars of cards are stolen in the case of Must Be Pokemon. The pokemon card on reddit has a lot of very cheap people. They’ll try to buy $20 cards for 8 to 10. In a sense like gravitates towards like.

I will never buy on youtube again after my crystal celebi fiasco. and yes i agree with @hisoka107 , this community is educated for the most part and there is some great discussion. The majority of ‘pokemon enthusiasts’ on youtube, reddit etc are … meh… There was a guy on youtube that thought an opened xy-p noibat/noivern was a even trade for my sealed jirachi vs halfdeck… o________o

@hisoka107 I definitely agree. On YouTube I’ve had to deal with people who are extremely uneducated and immature, and this community is a breath of fresh air.

Everyone I’ve dealt with whom hasn’t scammed me is on the goldlist.

If you told me English was his first language I would have believed you. I sometimes use him as a middleman service because of how easy it is to communicate with him. In fact when I’ve wrote to him in Japanese I don’t think he understood it, lol.
