Off the top of my head:
- JP Team Rocket was 1997 so I have a hard time thinking this is some anniversary product
- If it is some end of year celebratory product like the Precious Collector Box, Master Battle Set or even the Rocket 20th Anniversary case, it has to be announced soon for lottery preorders so that they can be delivered - and we haven’t had anything like that yet
- Alternate tinfoil hat theory - The Glory of Team Rocket and Terastal Festival are both High Class sets

I would love a Team Rocket themed High Class set, but “Team Rocket” hasn’t exactly been the adversarial focal point for many generations. So it would definitely be a 151 callback.

That also works. 151 covers Base, Jungle and Fossil sets so the natural follow-up would be to do one for Team Rocket
I am curious about the set code and release date because it most definitely is subset expansion material (i.e. this will never feature in a main expansion like SV9)

Obviously this means another Kanto remake. Or a Johto remake. Since the tcg ALWAYS aligns to the games.
In all seriousness, I’m hoping it’s a return of Dark or maybe do Shadow Pokemon? At the very least a “Team Rocket’s” pokemon like with magma/aqua. Otherwise the set is just going to be Rattata, Ratticate, Zubat, Houndour, Meowth, Persian, Mew, Mewtwo.

It’s not the case here because sets and trademarks related to an upcoming game are never announced before the game is announced. 151 also wasn’t based on any game to date. As a potential subset expansion, they occasionally deviate from such “rules”

SV year 2 2024 - The Glory of Team Rocket (covers Team Rocket)
SV year 3 2025 - ??? (covers Gym Heroes & Gym Challenge)
That way the entire JP Original era of sets is wrapped up within SV era
