What step is your submission at ? Mine was arrived March 5th and hasn’t changed since.

Very small pool of here compared the sports guys, if you want more numbers check out blowoutforums, specifically their grading section with regards to where certain submission tiers stand on their processing

I’m just playing. But I did just get this Lugia back from Super Express. I thought it was 7-8 worthy but it got a 4. It’s probably the cleanest four in existence. I did notice a very very small bend (no crease) in the corner and I’m aware dents make it auto-6. I don’t think this card is a four so I’m probably just gonna crack it, put it in a book to flatten the bend and send to CGC. This card can definitely get higher than a four lol.

anyone seeing any movement on their quarterly specials? I might throw a party once it hits the one-year mark since my ship date, lol

Is it sad that I have more faith in getting my November 2020 PSA sub back before my April 2020 Panini Redemption submission? haha

mine at qa2 for about 3 weeks…

@knotchi so the card was dented then?

My express that was entered March 2 shipped on April 7th so hopefully yours will make progress soon.

@knotchi, lmao qq, its a 4

Yes slightly. It’s not a crease though. I’ve seen cards with creases get way higher grades than a 4. I have an old cert PSA 9 with a crease in it, I posted it in this thread a while back.

By today’s standards, this may be a four but it wasn’t always this strict. And that’s the problem.

looks like a 4 to me that joint is bacony

Dent, crease, doesn’t matter. If the card is absolutely mint with either of these it is an auto 6. Any other defects (holo scratches, wear, etc) can lower the grade as well. They’re not more strict, that’s a PSA 4/5 card unfortunately. If you have a PSA 9 with a crease, that is a card that snuck by due to human error which is very possible, that does not mean it deserves a 9 and doesn’t mean PSA used to be less strict because of this.

It’s dented. That’s a PSA 6 max. Arguing over PSA 4 vs. PSA 6 is pointless since PSA basically just throws out random numbers on everything 6 and below.

If I were you, I would just crack it and sell it raw (making sure to disclose all the flaws). In this market, someone will buy it at PSA 7-8 prices thinking it could get a 9.

That would be incredibly problematic if PSA was throwing out random numbers on anything below a 6 lol. I am aware that dents make it auto 6. But go look at old cert PSA 4/5’s (0XX, 1XX) and tell me this belongs in the same category.

Oh for sure, I wasn’t basing my argument that PSA is stricter entirely on the fact that this got a 4. That would be absurd.

Also to clarify, this isn’t even my Lugia. I just sent it in for my friend so I’m not salty or anything that this got a low grade. It’s not my card.

Express CGC to PSA Crossover Sub. Will keep everyone posted.

Do you think you just missed the dent when you originally examined it? Or do you think it was dented afterwards? I’m just curious because you seemed pretty confident it would be an 8/9 minimum.

With that dent, if the rest of the card is clean, I agree that 4 seems a bit harsh. 5-6 is what I would’ve expected.

checked this bad boy over a few hundred times for scratches, dents, and any major whitening, none of those expect for maybe some minor edgewear. My phone blurs the image a bit, just a warning. Sending to CGC, what do you guys think it’ll grade? I’m thinking 8-8.5 but a 9 would absolutely be a great return for me >.>
