The Giant Professional Grading Thread

Mine are pushin 5 months, same with a friends who did 50 someodd cards express

glad to hear I am not the only one. I had one express that was registered at the end of February or early March. It’s been in grading for a long while now. I was pretty nervous when I saw that they have cleared all express but haven’t heard anything about the Ludkins express. I don’t remember but was it much cheaper going through Ludkins than direct? I am wondering if it was even worth it at this point

Does anyone know the website where we can check how the pop of cards has gone up month by month? Thanks

Hey everyone, I’m looking to buy Pikachu Poncho PSA 10 cards in the near future. I prefer to collect BGS 10s because I like their labels but the premiums are not worth it to me. I’m wondering if it was possible to crossgrade PSA 10 cards to BGS 10s without cracking open the slab. My biggest concern is damaging the card & I’d also prefer having the already graded PSA 10 if it doesn’t transfer over to a BGS 10.

I would love to get more information about the possibilities & risks from someone that has experience with this.

Thank you!

I recommend just buying BGS 10s. You are much more likely to successfully crossgrade if you crack the slab. If the premiums aren’t worth it to you then maybe try BGS 9.5 same gold label.

^^^ Second this. There are definitely some PSA 10s that would cross to a BGS 10 if cracked but plenty that would not. Cracking before sending for regrading gives you the best chance at crossing but it is still a gamble. Safest bet is definitely to just buy the BGS 10.

The probability of successfully grading a 10 is built into the premium. There’s not really a way to get around an optimized system in this way without luck. The expected outcome is that you will probably pay more trying to successfully cross than if you just outright bought the BGS 10 as suggested by others. You could get lucky on the first attempt but aiming for this result is just gambling.
The truth is that the premium is based on an underlying reality. If there was a backdoor hack to generate BGS 10s significantly below the premium, people in the market would exploit that trick and the premium would vanish. It’s a bit of a contradiction to disagree with the premium but still hunt the label because the expected outcome is that you’ll be paying that premium somehow regardless of how you attempt to acquire the card.

Hey everyone! I bought a Korean BGS card recently, and although the cert comes up on their website, it doesn’t show in the POP report. Is there any way I can fix this?

I don’t know if we’re allowed to embed pics in this thread, but here’s a screenshot from the pop report.

I have two express orders from May 2020 that are still in grading.

Who did you submit them through? Some middleman I noticed labeled certain service levels on their sites as ā€œExpressā€ compared to their bulk offerings, but that was their own labeling brand and not at all any relation to PSA’s true Express level. GradedGem was one of these I believe. Their express was Economy or Regular tier at best.

Through Ludkins

US or UK?

U.S

I would reach out directly to them, there is definitely something wrong with the order then. I had a number of Express orders through Ludkins US I submitted in the fall that all came back within 1-2 months of submission.

For the sake of more data, my Ludkins Gold submission that was registered with PSA in November 2020 just hit grading today (so 8 months to go from research and ID to grading).
