Here is one of the private sales I referenced earlier that was just made public:

So moral of the story is to sell privately.

CGC 10 sells for <$500,000. BGS 9 sells for $275,000. PSA says hold my beer.

To be fair if I was in the market for a copy of a once in a lifetime card, I would buy a copy like this—so clean

Roughly when did the sale occur?

I think about 2 and half months ago, this copy was very recently graded

That’s bonkers. Why did the buyer opt to buy this copy for 2mil instead of the other recently available ones? The price difference is massive.

Agreed.
Not trying to be mean or anything, but this feels artificial with the relatively low recent sales.

There is a new chance to get a once-in-a-lifetime card:

This is a clear record price, is it not?

Yes it is.

Definitely feels like an attempt to shill or artificially inflate the market, with all the other copies recently available and their sale prices. Why pay 3x what other copies have sold for, especially in a private sale when you have the ability to negotiate and go back and fourth with the seller unlike in an auction setting? I’m still not sure this $2 million dollar one off sale really impacts public sales prices moving forward.

The only thing that I can think of is that the buyer might’ve wanted to crack and resubmit because they felt it was worthy of a 10 but the seller didn’t want to?

I also feel like trophy’s are hard to explain—a new price could very well just be a bidding war with too many wealthy people.

This particular copy has a factory print line, or thin line where the sheet of holo started and stopped right near the top of the art box that I’m sure prevented this card from getting a 10 the first time. Everything else on this copy looked spectacular!

Is there a historical gallery of what they used in the past?

Bulbapedia has a list including previous logos (“notes” column), there was a history article for Pokémon Centers on the forum but I’m not sure what happened to it

Are we expecting a shipping coupon for the holidays? I bought a jacket from [MEN] with the 20% off but didn’t realize how bad the shipping cost would be :laughing:
