some consider BGS 9.5++ score to be better than psa10. Its as close as you can get to pristine which is pop zero for overwhelming majority of vintage. If you took all the vintage psa10 pokemon cards and made bgs regrade them all, a very small percentage would achieve 9.5/10/10/9.5 scores. Its the honest truth and to be quite frank, if this was me buying and I was told I would be gauranteed a psa10 conversion, i would still keep it as a bgs 9.5 with those sub scores. It’s the highest graded BGS copy in existence
with that said, if your looking for psa10 crossovers you want the 10s in corners and edges for subgrades. This is absolutely the most successful combo of scores for conversions
Eh, I can’t see a BGS 9.5 surface of a low pop card like Mew ever crossing to a 10, BGS 9.5 surface is not something that’s very rare/hard to find and usually means quite a few surface issues
You underestimate subgrade collectors. They really think bgs is able to accurately grade down to that level

i mean you can also say that its beating bitcoin if you choose the time period correctly 
there is no one in pokemon who would consider a bgs 9.5 to be worth more than a psa 10 of the same card no matter the sub grades or the cert

Worth more and more desirable are 2 different things
For some people its not only about the money. They have their own unique collection goals
a lot of my bgs 9.5s are better than many of my psa10s
Also, i just want to point out; there was a point in time when bgs 9.5s were worth more than psa10s. Because the grade was just so respected and psa would hand out tens too easily.
if there really was a point in time where bgs 9.5 was worth more than a psa 10, then it just shows how much they fumbled the ball which is deserved because of what a trash tier company they are

personally i wouldnt even pay a quarter of a psa 10 for any bgs 9.5 even with 9.5/9.5/10/10 and there are some cards where i wouldnt even pay a 10th

Ultimately its the same card. Like if i took a psa 10 card thats worth 4k, cracked it, sent it to bgs
it wont get a bgs 10.. it will end up with a bgs 9.5

because the actual company is trash, no other grading company has pretty much non existent communication as they do or a website that never left the 90s even sketchbags like tag are better in that department
the only reason they still exist is because they keep getting bailed out and who knows what financial struggles they are really in
no one is gonna crack as psa 10 tho, so that point is pretty much moot. you can go the other way and crack the bgs 9.5 to try and get a psa 10, id argue the risk/reward is never there tho even with 9.5/9.5/10/10 subs coz youll pretty much always get a psa 9 except for maybe ultra modern trash which i dont care at all about and everyone knows if u keep it in the slab to preserve your old grade then they for sure arent giving you the 10

About 8 years ago for sports. Didnt come back to pokemon until corona but as a sports collector this was the case
Then BGS began tanking against psa
In fact i remember as early as 2005 BGS 9.5 getting premiums over psa10s
The PSA premium really only started in earnest the last 4 years tbh
