The Giant English Market Thread

That I agree with, silly comparison. By the looks of it, it is actually possible to get a near perfect box-fresh copy of this card, which is more than can be said about T17. Half the T17 10 pop should be 9s (INB4 I get swamped by angry people.)

A few of them were nines that got regraded to 10

Quick update on the price of a PSA 10 Jungle holo set - since my last post about 2 months ago, the prices have fallen about 20%.

The holo set now seems to be going for around 29K-31K, mostly driven by a drop in the price of the heavy hitters - Snorlax ($5,500), Vaporeon ($7,000), Kangaskhan ($2,600), and Clefable ($2,000).

This seems about on par with the decline in Jungle booster boxes, based on data from the WOTC booster box thread.

I’m lacking enough data on Fossil due to lack of sales, but I suspect a similar decline from what I have seen. That would place the holo set in the 16-18K range. I will continue to track that and update when I see more.

Yeah, I feel we’re getting closer to the early/mid 2020 pricing on most WOTC set cards. Some are even going for a bit less than that from what I’ve seen. I got a couple of very solid deals on 1st Ed PSA 10 Jungle holos the past month or so as well, but the supply is still very low so I don’t know if the price I paid is really a realistic market price for either cards I bought. I got a ‘deal’ relative to the past few sales but doesn’t mean I bought the bottom or anything I don’t think. I also feel the Jungle holo PSA 9s have been holding pretty steady and generally selling fast on eBay and else where that I watch (I’m still trying to complete the set).

Unless we all of a sudden get a huge increase in the PSA 10 supply that could dip prices further, I’m pretty happy with the prices I have been paying on 1st Ed Jungle holos the past little while.

I remember talking crap in my head 4-5 years ago because someone was asking $600 for a PSA 10 1st Ed Vaporeon, haha!

Just a fond memory

#zardwatch is now moving too fast for me to post every update. Of the 30 graded 10 so far, 14 have been sold and 6 more are listed for sale. Price has now stabilized a bit for the last 7 sales in the $2500-3500 range. Some stubborn sellers still asking $10-15k.

The real shocker to me is that so many of the people selling before they have the card in hand don’t realize they can post a scan from PSA instead of a grade receipt.

Are you really shocked that quick flippers and “investors” don’t know the features PSA provides?

@jcosmo,

Thanks for posting this amigo!

I was curious about this as I really enjoy the Jungle set. Very helpful perspective!

The Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon collection boxes featuring the alt art V and VMAX are supposed to be released tomorrow. I really only want the 6 promos, nothing else. What is everyone’s thoughts on most economic way to add them to the collection
buy the 3 boxes for $120 plus tax and sell all the extra contents, or wait a few weeks and buy the 6 singles I need? I am leaning towards just buying the singles, however they are going to be super popular promos, so there is a chance they might cost close to the entire box anyways.

Hard to tell given the past year but I will say the umbreon and espeon tag team alt arts were like 10 dollars max for quite a while so hopefully not too expensive

Prices bumped up after PSA announced they are temporarily not grading these cards. 9’s also went from a low of under $400 up to $2000 today. Condolences to yesterday’s sellers and today’s buyers.

I really hope this is only temporary. I was definitely planning on sending a couple in when grading becomes a bit more affordable in the future.

Bruh, these buyers do not think further than a couple of days
What do they think will happen when psa starts grading them again? People love throwing away money lol

A couple PSA 9 Evolutions Charizards sold for $99. What a fall from earlier this year, but completely expected considering the huge surge in population.

It will be interesting to see just how low it gets next year after PSA clears their entire backlog. I actually wouldn’t mind it becoming a $50 card. At that point it could become a fun gift to give to young/new collectors.

What’s life without a few gambles.
That being said I don’t have money for such a punt but for those who do, why not.

At this point in time, Evolutions prices are and should remain a meme at least for the next couple of years. Of course those prices were unsustainable but perhaps in 10 years or such, they might appreciate naturally.
