The Giant English Market Thread

Appears so. With how pricing is going, BGS 9.5 prices were starting to creep into that range. I could see someone buying it, using the PSA financial guarantee to get some money out of them, then depending just how bad it looked trying to cross it to BGS 9.5 or leaving it in the regraded PSA 9 case.

Yeah, a thick stamp Zard should be $55k minimum right now, so someone may have just decided that even if they were paying $37k for just the label it was worth it.

Pretty sure its relisted

Ahh okay, it was off last night but it was indeed re-listed this morning.

The card will never go away lol.

(It doesn’t help that on top of everything else the seller is only selling to a few select European countries right now.)

Just a few random thoughts from the last few days of sorting through ebay and reddit religiously. Ungraded cards have gone insane. More so than even graded cards. Condition doesn’t matter. One such example on Reddit…guy is selling unlimited card. ask for photos and it will grade a 7 maybe 8. hes asking $210 (well above the most recent psa 9 graded sales). Offer him graded 8 price. Said he cant take much less than ask. Another example. Nice looking card on ebay, obvious holo scratch but rest looks nice. Bid up to most recent psa 8 graded price. Outbid within 5 minutes and its now approaching high end of psa 9 graded prices. Final example, guy is selling entire binder of nice cards but all are in psa 1 condition. Almost entire binder sells out at psa 7/8 prices. Ask him for two remaining cards that have graded value of about $200, he says he’d be happy to do $350. Definitely a seller’s market at the moment

It’s always a seller’s market…if you have the right cards.

Nice raw cards for quite awhile have been going for psa 9 prices or sometimes higher if it looks like it has a good shot for a 10. I do think lower quality raw cards have been selling for too much though

I have also noticed this… still sparse graded supply. Market is working its way through whatever is available while PSA catches up from two months of no grading

A mint raw 1st edition neo Genesis typhlosion 18 went for around $600. I picked up two raw for $75 each so I’m happy but these prices are surprising me everyday.

I definitely feel like I’m missing out on cards I might not see for 1-2 years but I’m focusing on raw cards. I’m sure others are probably feeling the same way and as cards become scarcer I’m sure prices will continue to rise. If boxes are worth $10000 or more, plus you get $12 to a box then maybe we’ll start seeing holos going for $1,000 a piece raw.

I’m most curious to see the supply dump we get in a few months after the bulk offer lots get finished at PSA. If people hold the supply and don’t drop 100k cards on eBay and pwcc prices are going to blow through the roof, seriously.

Now you’re reading the playbook

The seller ā€˜kellystoon40xz’ had a ton of auctions that ended at PSA 9+ prices for ungraded cards…it’s fucking bizarre. I bought a solid PSA 8+ raw Exploud ex for $10 within the past couple weeks and then this eBay seller has this auction:
www.ebay.com/itm/Pokemon-TCG-EX-Crystal-Guardians-Holographic-Card-Exploud-EX-92-100/303574415207?hash=item46ae71f767:g:OzoAAOSwBrpexqnQ

What the actual fuck? This is, maximum, a $20 card. I’ve gotten cards from the seller before and they’re nice, solid NM cards, but this is just a joke.

A few other examples:

It’s just moronic; these ended at 3+ times higher than they should’ve. I put in a snipe of $65 on the Electrode ex because I’ve had an extremely tough time finding a NM/M one for my set. Figured it would probably end in the $40 range, but I just wanted to make certain that I would win the auction. And then it ends at $90…what the fuck.

@zorloth

I was looking at the deoxys. I have a really my mint one I’m sending in and wanted a mint minus card to go with it to make it look better haha. That deoxys 99 is PSA 9 at best. These cards are ending up at PSA 9 or higher prices like you said.

Interesting psychological tactic; would be curious if it actually makes a difference lol. I think the Deoxys ended at an even stupider price than the Electrode. I have a nearly pristine one I purchased for $25 in April. I got a bit lucky getting an actually NM/M one on the first try (which rarely happens with exs for me) but I highly doubt any raw Deoxys ex #99 is worth more than ~$50, even with the way prices are right now. If the buyer happens to read this, I have quite a few extra NM/M raw exs I can sell you at comparably inflated prices…

I’ve had these same thoughts myself for ages now! Can you imagine the amount of salt that would bring?

are we gonna see people crack psa 7 & 8s and auction them raw for psa 9+ prices?

that sounds like a Shitty Pro Life Tips from reddit haha.

My guess is that’s been happening awhile now

Raw selling above PSA prices isn’t entirely new. I use to sell my raw cards far above what they’d get graded. Sometimes I even cracked PSA 8s & flipped them easily. This was well before the price jumps.
