I haven’t done it in a long time (other than sending stuff for them to grade with CGC and then auction) but in the past it has always lined up with about how things are now - somewhere between 2-3 weeks depending on when in the auction cycle your stuff is curated.
I think that timing is fine enough since they need to schedule things out and not have everything crammed into one last minute auction, it’s just frustrating that you end up waiting those same 3 weeks each time something goes unpaid.
It also drastically makes me care way less about 24 hour grading. Sure, I guess it’s nice to start that 3 week process sooner rather than later, but the bottleneck is that your cards have to wait to get scheduled for auction so it hardly matters.
It’s like buying something from Japan and the seller sends it out the very next day, but they ship it via boat. I guess it’s nice that they got it out the next day but it’s still going to take forever so does it even matter at that point?
100%! That is one of my biggest pet peeves with fanatics. I always have to message my rep to put the item back into my vault, as it will just automatically go up in a random block that I didn’t chose. There should be an option to select if you want unpaid to vault or relist.
I think the issue he is highlighting is after you do the process you mentioned, if an item goes unpaid, fanatics automatically relists the card. The only way to vault the item is by messaging your rep so they can manually remove it from auction.
I paid for a vault retrieval on 12/4, waited until 12/16 for its shipping label to be printed. Checked the FedEx tracking a few days later and it was in France, headed for Italy but I live in MD USA.
Sent an email with screenshots asking for an explanation. Got an emails back saying that I requested a change for it to be sent to Italy address, obviously did no such thing. After I emailed them back saying this I was ghosted.
Started a chat, was told to wait a few hours for an email update with an explanation. Didnt receive any such email.
Next day, I go back to the chat and it’s dead, no matter what I type no one responds (not even the bot) despite my previous convo still there.
I have to then open an incognito browser to get the chat bot again and start a new chat. I get the rep who ghosted my emails and confirmed with me that it was mistakenly sent to Italy and that they are attempting to return it to sender. I had to ask if I should be worried about my account security for them to admit they mistakenly addressed the package. I do see there is a clearance delay in fedex in Italy but this has not updated for 10 days and I am again iced out of any communication for any updates.
Even if there’s nothing they can do (I’m sure international FedEx comms are difficult esp around holidays), the difficulty and lack of communication is pretty frustrating. Thankfully nothing crazy rare or valuable is in this shipment.
If you decide to send it back to your vault, you should ask them to waive any fees for it. I ran into a similar situation last year and decided to send the card back to me and my rep had no idea it went unpaid twice.
Exactly. Also, none of this gets around the fact that you don’t even get to start the 2-3 week scheduling timer until you’ve already waited 2 weeks for it to be considered unpaid.
This happened to me and they said it’s automatic and can’t be pulled. Obviously auctions now are weaker than a few weeks ago so it sucked. This was before it went up again. So now I get to lose more money and miss the 110% hammer special thing they had
Haven’t used Fanatics before, is the extended bidding different from when it was PWCC? Did a quick search and Fanatics states a bid needs to be placed within the last 5 minutes of the auction to be extended.
If no bids were placed in the last 5 minutes of the original auction block, does that mean there’s no extended bidding?
Also, does this push bidders to wait till the last 5 minutes to place their bids?
Thank you for an information you guys can provide. Have a card I really want this week and don’t want to miss out on it because I wasn’t familiar with the site.
It works the exact same as PWCC. It is PWCC, just under a different name.
If no bids are placed in the first 30 minutes beginning at 7:00 Pacific Time, there will be no extended bidding for that item. If at least one bid was received, it will be pushed to the next window of 5 minutes beginning at 7:30 Pacific Time.
Each window needs one bid before it is pushed forward, otherwise it will close and the winning bidder will receive an invoice.
Sometimes, as bidders do not want to purposefully push the price higher than necessary. You can bid at any point in time until the card is sold (i.e., no bid was received in the window and you were the winning bid).
As always, very much appropriate your help and insight information. Glad it works just as before. Now to wait 4 days for 7pm PST to hit, at least that’s my timezone, so not some crazy time.
im looking at the weekly auction preview and when i select pokemon (english) category it’s full of yugioh, sailor moon, mtg, one piece, not to mention, french, german, spanish etc. pokemon cards. am i missing something here or is does this function just not work anymore
You have to expand the selection and untick all the non-Pokemon stuff. For some reason, when you tick the Pokemon stuff, all the TCG stuff gets ticked too. You have to manually untick them all.
Just curious if anyone is using the ACH method. It says it’s using Stripe and the amount of information they want from the bank seems quite a lot, usually just Routing and Account number is enough for a ACH transaction.
