The Fanatics Collect [formerly PWCC] Megathread

it should be an option on checkout with free shipping unless they got rid of it with the de-merger

whoops ignore me was thinking of psa vault

Looks like Fanatics Collect has implemented some changes to their platform:

  • Only 24 items are shown per page, in 8 rows of 3

  • The number of bidders/watchers favoriting a card is shown

  • “Favorites” has been removed and replaced with “My Activity”

  • A larger list of authenticators has been added as a filter

Is this only for slabs or for raw cards too?

is this the latias that “sold” for 58k

So it’s the same for items bought on ebay ? We don’t need to fill out any form and the seller just need to send the card on our PWCC vault adress ?

Yes! Treat the vault address like you would your home or any mailing address. Wherever you enter it as your address, that is where it will ship.

Yes but you need to either get them cgc certified or psa/cgc/sgc graded if they are raw

Not loving some of these changes :frowning:

Is it me or are we not able to see high resolution images of the cards now?

Idk what’s the plan, but If they’re seriously getting rid of hi-res images, then it really really sucks. As a collector, I enjoyed seeing high quality scans of my cards, I don’t want garbage JPGs looking like shitty nfts.

As a buyer, I will definitely think a lot more before bidding on cards that I can’t see properly.

I semi-recently reached out to them because I noticed vault photos were missing high resolution photos. The rep told me that “high-resolution is the default setting. It’s designed to display the hi-rez view at all times, except for the thumbnails and quick view.”

I think he was confused because I was specifically talking about vault photos and he kept replying saying high resolution is the default. Only after the 3rd email did I stop replying lol. And then magically, later that same day after the email exchanges, the high resolution photos for vaulted items showed high resolution

So besides thumbnails and quick view, we should have high resolution photos. If you don’t see high resolution photos, I’m assuming it’s a bug

For a brief period of time, they updated the vault to show images exactly like that, and it was working: clicking on the card preview and entering the card details page would automatically load the hi-res scan, without the need of any buttons.

Unfortunately it lasted a week or so for me. They changed UI and the current version is a mess (it shows market value as from 1970, instead of 2024) and lacks hi-res scan for everything (auctions, buy-it-now, personal vault)

Oh yea you’re right. The resolution for photos in vault and auctions are lower resolution :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

As for market value, I feel like that’s been pretty wonky since they started the site. I also have a few items that show as of 1970, but most other items I have seem to be ok showing recent dates. I usually add my own owner value to items because I don’t really trust the market value numbers

I used to take screenshots of the high res scans for my posts and memories, the lack of high res scans really makes me want to pull all my cards from the vault.

They also made changes to the fixed price marketplace, which could be helpful except for when you have a niche card for sale. 6% fees is nice for their “great price” qualifying cards, but that’s based on their set value.

Ever since the acquisition they have gone downhill.

I’m annoyed with some of these changes. It feels as though Fanatics Collect is lowering standards to improve website performance (e.g., reducing the availability of high quality images, only loading 24 items per page) without considering how it is affecting the end users. Another frustration is that sorting by year is no longer correct, as it mixes up various sets that were released in the same year rather than sorting by release date.

Growing pains I suppose. :pikacry:

Edit: The cookies seem to not be working properly as well. Fanatics Collect is kicking me off to re-login randomly.

My guess, they got a few designers and a lot of engineers that the people above them feel like need to be put to use in someway irregardless of the user experience

the sorting by year never worked properly for me at least for the weeklies

Their high resolution photos were probably the best on any auction or vault site. Like the scans on PSA vault or Alt vault are a lot worse, even with the current downgrade on Fanatics Collect. I’m going to reach out and see if maybe this is a bug or if they’re actually going to keep lower resolution photos from now on

I remember hearing about PWCC downsizing their website staff before they were sold to Fanatics. I wonder if Fanatics and their designers/engineers are stuck in the past. :older_man:

the 24 items per page change is ridiculous…

They need to revert their recent website changes. Each new update is making it harder to bid on everything
