This dude put a lot of work into his binder research producing dozens of binder specific videos.
This video is the result of all that work and gives his final opinion on the best portfolios for your collection.
TCC does some excellent review work, really does a great job breaking down all aspects of a product. Personally, all I run are zipfolios from ultimate guard. Thereās something about that zipper that puts my mind at ease knowing my cards wonāt be covered in dust when I go to open them a few months from now.
Heās a mega shill so take all his stuff with a grain of salt. One of the MTG content creators that were paid by and promoted pucatrade which ripped off a lot of people. This guy is almost as much of a scam artist as The Mana Source.
I can see why you dislike him, but heās no criminal or scammer. He might have been affiliated to the wrong people in the past, but his review videos seem fairly informative.
Heās not biased or pushing people to buy one brand, he gives pros and cons and people can choose which best suit their needs.
If heās willing to push puca for puca bucks how can you trust any other review? Donāt think someone who sends him stuff or money is going to get a better review? Dude is an e-beggar and can easily be bought.
Just use your own eyes to decide and donāt put all your faith into the presenters especially if youāre easily persuaded. Most here are smart enough to read beyond the hype;)
Agreed. Would value an e4 memberās advice in this thread much more than someone who has an opinion that can be bought.
Sorry it struck a nerve but there are some serious MTG sell-out/e-beg individuals who screw a lot of people over. Worst thing recently being The Mana Source telling people to buy a card from TCG Player(sponsor) when it was going to be reprinted in the new Ultimate Masters set and tanked. This surely screwed people over and turned them away from the game/collecting. I donāt own or collect Magic but hate seeing people get scammed for these sleezy individuals to make a buck. Same could happen in Pokemon and ruin the hobby for individuals.
PucaTrade explanation for those who havenāt heard about it:
Regarding the Dex binders, is there potential for the elastic strap to bend or warp the cards on the outer row? I donāt use the straps on my binders.
I like the āFoursā Binder. I worried about cards closest to the binding creasing/bending and this binder has not had that issue so far. It was around $45 on Amazon & the pages are 4x3.
I canāt stand fixed binders for my main collection. If a page is screwy you canāt swap it out and I hate having empty pages at the end. I have tried loads of different ones, and I do like the ultra pro premium or pro binders, but yeah I donāt use them for much just a few oddball collections here and there that I slowly work on assembling in my spare time (so rarely).
I run 3 ring binders with the black ultra pro 18 pocket side load pages for my whole collection. Some day I may migrate to the unikeep someone has posted here but that is in the middle of a long to do list. I can definitely vouch for the black ultra pro 18 pocket side loads though. Nice stuff and I like the black backgrounds.
Since his video on dex binders Iāve been a huge dex protection fan. IMO they have the best price to quality ratio. I have 5 of their deck boxes and two binders. The suede is just so nice!
@garyis2000 TCC is the biggest MTG YouTuber, heās been doing reviews for a long time. You can see all his reviews on his website in a āreport cardā with links to all the videos, itās pretty handy. I got some ultimate guard 9 pocket xenoskin zipfolios for Christmas for my vintage MTG sets, theyāre pretty damn good.
@rattlebear I donāt think TCC is a shill either, he openly criticizes WOTC and other companies in videos quite regularly when they release a poor product and he is openly against a lot of WOTCās business and PR decisions. He was sponsored by pucatrade at the height of itās popularity and I donāt think he understood the issues with the inflationary points system. At the time pucatrade was generally accepted as a good product by the majority of the community, people preaching the inflation issues were the minority at the time. Thereās nothing wrong with taking on sponsors and getting paid as long as itās disclosed which it was.
Did he apologize and/or make a warning video about PucaTrade after it became obvious? Easy to pretend not to notice the issues when youāre benefiting from it. How many free points did he get? How many cards did he get with those free points? How many cards did he actually sell for points? Did he do anything to make up for the profit he made with all those free points? Did he send the cards back to the people he got them from?
Dude is also e-beggar enough to make a video called āI just lost my job. Can I have a dollar?ā. He would suck or shill for anyone and anything that benefits him.
Is Wedge a shill? Answer is yes and IMO even more so than TCC. He recently put out an MTG finance video telling people to buy $15 Creeping Tar Pits from TCG Player when it was going to be reprinted in Ultimate Masters. This punishes people with less knowledge in a hobby and hurts the hobby overall.
