The Answer Is: Inspect, Submit, and Review

And take notes for your reference when you review later.

That’s the best way to improve your pregrading skills which can mean a TON of savings and/or extra earnings.
Don’t ask others to pregrade your cards via internet pictures. There’s so much you can’t see.

Lastly, share your results on e4s Great Grading Result Thread and discuss how accurate your pregrading was.

This should probably be a sticky.
But i doubt it would prevent people swooping in to ask anyway, the fact remains they’ll only know once they submit .

Good point, i will make a post comparing my predicted grades vs their actual grade from ludkins now on the result thread

Great points Gary.

I would add also to pay attention to sellers that consistently sell high quality cards and to avoid sellers that consistently sell low quality cards.

1000% yes! There’s no substitute for experience, it took me many submissions and many purchases of graded cards before I could truly understand what each grade looked like and predict within a reasonable margin the grades my cards were going to get, and I’m still learning exactly what can affect grades and by how much.

I’d really like to emphasize the “review” part here. Review all of your cards once you get them back, ask yourself why they got the grades they did and modify your condition assessments accordingly.

I haven’t sent anything off personally but whenever I receive psa cards I buy I like to find all the different flaws in the card that gave it that grade.
