It really benefits no one in the short term. Itās an economic suicide pact. But I donāt have any strong opinion on how it plays out in the long term though (10+ years). Could be good for the US to have all the extra tax money. Could be good for other countries to pivot away from being so dependent on the US. But for now all it does is add friction and on net less total exchange of money and goods.
Itās great for long term for countries outside the USAā¦but sucks short term.
Just look at how dependant everyone was before eg. NATO.
Trump maybe playing 4D chess by getting eu to pay their fair share of things such as NATO, but judging from his tweets idk if he can think that far ahead.
For Pokemon, it absolutely hurts, especially for those looking to grade with PSA.
No one will be subbing anytime soon.
Very frustrating times indeed.
Not to turn the Japan tariff thread into a grading thread, but I would be curious what volume for PSA, CGC, etc is from USA customers vs international. Like if itās 50/50 of course this a huge impact on their buisness. But if its 90/10, I dont think a 10% reduction in grading volume would hurt PSA much, especially if its temporary or they have workarounds like submission offices in Europe
I heard that 100% of BGS grading volume is from @charizardespana so this may be the final nail in the coffin ![]()
Iām cool but Iām not that cool. Sadly, Iām actually a very small fish.
Pray for the BGS Eu gods for my current submission.
Itās probably like 30% but itās growing.
Itās where they saw opportunity to expand for sure as they are more untapped markets.
It definitely affects their business model.
Here is potentially my last sale to the US via Canada Post (for a while?). For one slab the cost will go from $7 to $17. I think this will hurt Canada Post a lot and USPS will feel a hit too.
100% of BGS shilling*
(ems) shipped 8/16, delivered 8/23.
no tariffs on 150k yen purchase.
Iām glad that this bothers you
Different opinion = must be shilling
50% of my collection is in a psa slab and it will be staying that way.

Looks like Japan post has followed suit in suspending packages to the US
Is the smartest move starting a vault service in japan and potentially waiting things out?
Thisā¦or fingers crossed that the date somehow gets pushed back? Especially with a lot of international posts halting US packagesā¦maybe more political push back occurs in the coming days.
