Sword & Shield's Greatest Subset: Peaceful Park Pals

I have updated the original post one last time;

  • Changed card order to reflect the original Japanese release order.
  • Changed card image sources to the official Japanese card database.
  • Added links to the official ‘Pokémon Card Illustration Stories’ for Ralts, Ribombee, and Emolga.
  • General layout edits.

I would once again like to thank everyone for the kind words - it makes me very happy that so many people appear to have enjoyed this silly little thread!

Bravo!! I was noticing this park theme in some cards but didn’t know how deep the Peaceful Park lore went!! Thanks for compiling this!

Now PSA will have to make a Peaceful Park set registry in place :smirk:

Who is shooting for PSA 10 set??

For anyone putting this into a binder how are you formatting it? Placing the individual art cameos together with kricketune as the final card?

This decission bothered me a lot but i finally just decided to go with chronological order, final cards being kricketune and peaceful park

I’ve decided to order them by seasonally, starting at spring through to winter and finishing with the night time cards. It works well as all of the cards with cameos are set in the same season as those Pokémon and leads into Kricketune nicely.

Just discovered about this after looking down at some cards I own, I’ve descended the rabbit hole and I love this so much, thank you for the detailed article!

I’d like to argue that Hypno from SIT is also part of the set, for a couple reasons:

  • Drawn by Shinji Kanda, not previously drew a card for this subset
  • Features the bench, trash and lamp (although another type)
  • Bushes to the right suggest the bushes surrounding the pond, trees surrond the park from the other side
  • Buildings in the background are reminiscent of the ones on the wooloo and Vullaby

At least I think when I do start to assemble this set, I will add him in!

Plot twist: Peaceful Pal Park Distortion World. The bench and lamp remain however the serenity of the park has given way to the clamor of humanity.
