Childhood.

I suppose nostalgia may be the most appropriate term, but I also feel childhood is a big factor in how many of us enjoy Pokemon. No matter what generation you started with, you probably experienced it in your younger years which is an important factor in how we enjoy Pokemon later in life because that short pocket of time sticks with us forever it seems.

I know speaking personally that Pokemon was a big factor in my childhood since my family wasn’t that well off and so I didn’t have much choice in toys or other entertainment, but Pokemon fit the bill at the time. It’s really these childhood experiences & memories that stick with us the most I think and this is what comes to my mind when I think of Pokemon in one word.
