So let me tell you how I created my own Pokemon Art Contest(s)

Thank you all for the kind words! It is certainly a time-consuming process to organize, but the results are always worth it. People appreciate being able to participate in things like this, and I greatly enjoy all the stages: from receiving the illustrations, sharing the voting process with the audience, announcing the winners, and then designing the card, which I also do live so they can see the process in real time.

Btw, I just updated the third post with the card images, contest information, and more. I hope you find it interesting! I’m particularly proud of how they turned out, considering that they were created long before the games were released and we didn’t knew what the official cards were going to be like!

Ironically I think the artwork of the winners are all much more interesting than the winners of the Pokemon’s illustration contest last year

I was thinking, out of curiosity, which of the illustrations is your favorite from this contest? I thought it might be cool to create an ā€œE4 Winnerā€ card (in English) with your favorite illustration (I’m not sure if we should create a thread with one drawing in each message so you can like/vote for it?), and the winner would become the card.

If there’s enough interest, let me know, and although it will take some time, when they’re ready, I could send them to Scott or a community member who could distribute them to those who want them as a keepsake (I mainly mention this because being from Spain, it’s easier for me to send them all at once to the US instead to each person individually! It would be simpler for Europe).

I don’t know, it’s a crazy idea but I think that would be cool!

That’s a lot to say, haha! Personally, I adore the Arcanine that won in the previous competition, but the truth is, yes, the level is not very uneven. There have been some winners of my competitions who could very well have been official PokĆ©mon cards, if it weren’t for the fact that Europe is never part of the PokĆ©mon Company selections.
