smpratte on Pokebay - pokemoncardmarket.eu

Hi guys,

I just saw smpratte’s Youtube video on Pokebay and I was wondering whether pokemoncardmarket.eu is known in the US (and Canada)?
It’s very known Europe. Maybe it should expand to North America.

I’m pretty sure that is somewhat similar to our TCGplayer site, which can have pretty much most English set cards and promos, but is player oriented and doesn’t have PSA cards many promos, or Japanese.

Hi @jan123herink,

I’m from Spain, but I didn’t know that website O.O

How does it work? Do cards actually arrive? Are they really mint/near mint as they state in many cases? Can you see pictures of the actual card once you’ve logged in?

I see the point of smpratte when he talked about the history of Ebay… I mean, I have a hard time having confidence in other websites to buy cards compared to Ebay… In fact, I’ve already been scammed on Facebook

Although it’s indeed mostly English, you can buy all kind of different languages there. Especially German, French, Italian and Spanish cards and packs/boxes can be found on en.pokemoncardmarket.eu. From my Pikachu, Seviper and Mimikyu collection I’ve got over 350 of them from pokemoncardmarket. I used to buy English and Japanese from ebay.com, and German, French, and Italian from their respective ebays (ebay.de; ebay.fr; ebay.it). Now however I also buy from lppcollecting.it for Italian cards, frikea.es for Spanish, noppin.com for Japanese, and en.pokemoncardmarket.eu for every language (except for Chinese and Polish. And Dutch, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, and Russian are pretty limitedly available).

You’re right they don’t/barely have any PSA cards for sale, nor Japanese. They do sell promos available in English and other European languages.

en.pokemoncardmarket.eu is similar to ebay, in that they are all different sellers, instead of a single webshop.

So whether they arrive and in which condition depends on the sellers. Some sellers are awesome and the cards arrive very well packaged and in gem-mint condition. Others state they are mint, but are lightly-played at best. Just like ebay, it all depends on the seller.

A big disadvantage is indeed that you can’t see pictures of the actual card. Some people add a picture of the card, but it’s optional, and almost no seller does this. Most cards stating they are mint, actually arrive in mint, but since I’m just after all the cards and barely care about condition (to some extend), I don’t mind the lack of pictures in general.

Here at the very bottom (since they are ordered by price) you can see an example of a PSA9 card, with added picture. But you could always message the seller to ask for pictures. Most will probably comply, although not all.

Personally I’m very glad this website exists, because I would still have to find all kind of German, French, Italian, or Spanish cards without it. And overall the cards including shipping are also cheaper than the same cards I come across on ebay.com; ebay.de; ebay.fr; ebay.it; etc.

If you have any questions in particular about en.pokemoncardmarket.eu that I might be able to answer, feel free to tag me with the question here (or PM me).

Greetz,
Quuador

I don’t have too good experiences with it as a potential buyer sadly, as a seller it works but it’s very slow on limited inventory with perhaps highish prices. But whenever I think about pulling my cards of that site some random cards get sold and I leave it up there :stuck_out_tongue:

Regarding buyer experience: I tried to buy some of the more higher-end cards that were claimed to be in Mint condition, of course I ask for pictures, only half respond but fine whatever, but then all cards are not Mint, like PSA 7 quality at best, and they are asking the premium price, but that’s besides the point as a want Mint cards. So far I haven’t been able to buy a card yet.
