I found this grey set symbol skyridge card while going through my collection. Anyone have examples of this, i.e, is this something people have seen before, or is this something new?

I’ve seen it in some other various sets, can’t say I’ve seen it in Skyridge. Cool find.
Nice find. I believe TCA Gaming has some graded. He showcased them at the Hartford event last year.

How’s the gray stamp 1st ed base set coming? All done?
Yeah. Fortunately found a Wartortle late last year after going through four 9s. Still have a Raichu PSA 8 I’d like to upgrade to a 9. Offering $5k for a PSA 9 if anyone has one.
It was a challenging set.

I think grey set symbols are pretty different than 1st ed symbols, so our Dutch brethren doesn’t need to take a xanax about this one

I don’t think you understand this man. He’s crazy in all the best ways possible. He sits upon his throne knowing that he will have the greatest pikachu collection not just on earth but in the universe. It’s rumored he’s traveled to the moon to try and get certain cards.
In all seriousness though it wouldn’t surprise me if he still added these to his list.

I’ve actually seen this misprint before (probably in TCA’s video). I’ll probably add it to my list to be reminded by it and look for them once in a while. But overall not a high priority for me. Grey stamps and text can basically happen for any card, not just 1st edition stamps. I’ve seen some grey text XY Evolution cards before, and I also own two grey text Holon Phantom Pikachu cards. I’ve also seen Jungle Holofoil cards where the dots of the set symbol flower are much larger than usual, although haven’t found any Pikachu like that yet (it’s also in my list so I look for them every once in a while).
It’s similar as holo bleed, miscut/off-centered cards, (partial) square cuts, ink dots, etc. Those kind of misprints can happen on any card, but in some cases it happened more than once and it’s interesting to add to my list to look for every once in a while, like grey 1st edition stamps for Gym Heroes and Neo Genesis, smudged 1st edition stamps for Team Rocket, or these grey set symbols for Skyridge.
Oh, and thanks for the tag. Cool to see them again and be reminded by them. 
PS: I don’t have the largest Pikachu collection in the world/universe. I own roughly 1400 Pikachu cards right now, but I know a fellow Pikachu collector who owns around 1550 now (he has a lot more misprints/errors and autographed cards, but from official releases he also owns a few more than me).
