Hi everyone, new member here. I mostly focus on Japanese promos, ever since '99 I’ve always loved the mystique of “those cards we can’t have.” But as far as English cards go I do have this Blastoise error that I’m very fond of. 
sending him off to be graded and he’ll be part of my permanent collection.

Is this an actual error or is it just a stamp someone put on the card? If it is a real error it means another Base set error card to put on my list to get…
its a legit random ink spot, they’re mostly unique and usually don’t have identical replicas
I can’t believe they graded that! If I was a PSA employee that lack of texture would be a huge red flag that the card is fake… Still congrats, I love those no texture errors!
I was pretty sure it’d fly. It and my SR Gyarados both were graded without issue. They are legitimate cards. Average PSA employee probably wouldn’t know a textured card from a non-textured card is what I figured. They have some silly rules but no-textures are unique enough they probably aren’t on their radar.

Yeah I know they’re legit, but there’s also a TON of full art fakes out there and the biggest giveaway is that they never have texture, so I would think that PSA employees would be trained to look for that kind of thing, but I guess not haha! Congrats!

Odd question but has Bulbapedia has this error listed:
“Team Aqua’s Sharpedo 18: A few of these cards say “Evolves from Team Aqua’s Spheal” instead of Carvanha.”
Has anyone ever seen one of these? Cant find any pictures.
