Show Off Your Error Cards Megathread!

Happens very often with CGC. You’d think the numbers would always be in the same position, and they’re just printed along with the label, but apparently not. At first I thought all the .5 grades from CGC had this issue, but apparently it’s rather random, including the position it’s off-centered towards. Here three CGC-9.5s with different misalignments of the “Gem Mint 9.5” text within the square box: towards the left; towards the top; towards the right.

The grade box centering issue has been fixed with the new style case. Not sure what had been causing it before.

One of my favorite errors in my collection, crimp error legendary collection reverse holo pikachu.

I noticed the slightly misaligned reverse foil before I noticed the crimp lol. I guess that shows which errors I like
Nice double error!

Whoa I didn’t even notice that! How can you tell the foil is misaligned?

Genuinely confused at this, what’s misaligned on the foil?

@braud001 that’s sick – I’ve never seen a crimped LC

It is very slight, but the foil is shifted very slightly to the bottom right. Shifts are my favorite error (and the only one I will keep collecting) but I sometimes see shifts in the smallest of places, of which this is one.

Four different errors:

  1. Inverted texture
  2. Both cards have Zamazenta V’s texture pattern
  3. MC/OC on the front
  4. Inverted back

I’ve mentioned this card before but not in this thread. This is my only graded error card.

There is some debate about whether or not it’s actually an error. Some people think it was intentionally put in Jungle 1st edition packs as a sort of secret rare (there’s an interesting discussion if you do a search on this forum), but who knows.

Either way I really love the card. I’ve had it for almost 20 years, and for the majority of that time it was my most valuable card.

Amazing Energy error collection! Love all the connected miscut sets. Cool Matchprint Steel Energy and huge Grass Energy. And that Banette Grass Energy has to be my favorite Energy error.

Do you only collect Energy misprints, or also just all Energy cards in general? If this is your misprint Energy collection, I can only imagine what your non-misprinted Energy collection might look like. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

EDIT: Btw, this isn’t mine, but maybe you can try to locate it in some MTG FB groups. It would be perfect for your collection:

@quuador, I am told that the Banette error is a repeating error. It took me quite awhile to get a photo that was juuust right.

I have a near complete English Energy card collection. I have all the special energies, basic, promos, unnumbered, and jumbo cards. I always get the reverse holo of the energy if it is available. I do not have all the versions of the ruby and sapphire energies or the 2016 double colorless Top8/Champion cards, but as long as I have some version of it, I am happy.
I also have a few fun foreign energy sets, but I typically stick to English.

That MTG energy is pretty sweet. It is definitely something I would bid on if it ever became available, although I am not a MTG fan.

Recent pick up - not seen much in the way of Gym Heroes holo-bleed in the past. Happy that it’s on such a stunner of a card (with a super swirl) too!

Tried to get some clear shots of the bleed, but it’s easier said than done with a camera haha.

Take a picture in a dark room with flash, make sure to have the card on about an armlength away. The holo bleed should pop that way!

I was changing binders around and noticed what I guess are ink marks on the back of the Celebrations Mew. It’s the only one on the Celebrations cards that I have.
