Thank you. The seller offers returns so I’ll return it then
lmaoooo buy something expensive (with money from savings!!) without doing any research then return it when all the feedback from e4 is negative… amazing stuff
2025 everybody
The reddit “was this a good buy” / “did I get scammed” threads have made their way to e4
everyone makes mistakes when they’re new, no need for all this
im dead
I was not expecting the return loop hole plot twist. Hopefully a good lesson learned op, this hobby can get the better of you if you let it. There’s a lot of sharks in the water, dunk your feet in a little bit to test the waters before jumping in head first.
That’s a fair point, and I’ve probably been a bit mean.
I think this is generating reactions because a $50 or $100 mistake (because you’re new) is one thing. Putting yourself in the position to make a $10,000 mistake is another.
I agree the figure is absurd. It’s a reflection of how intensely Pokémon is being marketed as a vehicle to get-rich-quick, to adults on social media
I’m glad you’re taking time to reassess but I want to be clear that deciding to return something only because strangers online told you it was a bad deal isn’t a fair reason to go back on a purchase. Especially if the seller was honest and transparent about what they were offering. That’s not how collecting works and it’s not how investing works either.
This should be a wake up call for you to take ownership of your decisions. If the cards were accurately described and you made the purchase based on emotion or impulse, that’s on you. Use this as a learning curve not a way to dodge consequences.
Everyone makes mistakes in this hobby at some point and what separates responsible collectors and investors is how they respond and grow from those mistakes. Take some time to research, learn and really understand what you’re doing before putting serious money on the line again.
That said, if the seller is happy to take the return and you can walk away from this with your money then fair play. However, don’t rely on that kind of grace in the future.
