TWICE in a row I tried to send a parcel to PSA (California) from the UK using Fedex, once directly with my Fedex account, second with Parcel2Go (middleman company) and BOTH times US Customs have held onto them for 1-2 weeks and rejected them.
Both parcels were declared with value of around $1000-2000 each.
Major headache, I’m unlikely to get these cards back by Christmas now. Any advice for future shipments? Anything under $1000 I’m usually happy to use Royal Mail (UPS) and accept the risk but these cards are too valuable.
@professorstephen, I recommend you talk to PSA and Fedex and ask them what may have gone wrong.
Personally, I always send with Royal Mail but there is inherent risk for sure as they have been trying to find a returned package worth over £5k for almost 6 months now.
If PSA or Fedex are unable to provide you guidance, your next best option might be to send with Ludkins.
Did they gave a reason why they rejected them? Sounds odd if they just reject a package and don’t give any valid reason why…
I do know that since recently a phone number and/or email is mandatory for packages that go internationally for certain countries, probably due to the current pandemic. Although this primarily applies to Asian countries (South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, etc.). I haven’t heard it was mandatory for the US, and I doubt it is…
Does the middleman company you’ve used know why it rebounded?
Also, out of curiosity: if you’re in the UK, why ship to PSA directly? Isn’t it much easier to use Ludkins Collectables? Or do you have an enormous submission and an subscription at PSA, and shipping directly is therefore cheaper?
Scott Elmer can handle international mail, he grades for you at a good price $12 per PSA and at 45 day psa, probably longer that’s still faster than what economy times are for psa directly.
