So I am considering buying some sealed product from Canada and I am in the US. While I have purchased items from Canada before, they were generally around $200 usd. The value of the product I am looking to purchase is around $5000. Is there a difference in customs for an item of this value?
What I am worried about is them opening the product, as I have heard it happened to others who have purhcased internationally before.
So my question what decides whether they open your package or not. And what shipping methods do you recommend for those of you Canadians who have shipped to the US, or US ppl who have received relatively high value packages from Canada?
I’ve never had any issues with packages from Canada (or anywhere for that matter) being shipped to the US. US seems to be pretty lenient on customs. Most of the issues with customs opening boxes comes from the UK/EU iirc.
