does anyone have any info on the Japanese shaymin lv.x collection? i bought the box years ago and forgot about it. can’t see any sales or information on sold sealed. was it in a tin aswell? as i have seen images in collectr with it in a tin?
I think this is from around 2009-2010. The Shaymin LV.X Collection Pack, from the DP era.
In the US this came in a tin, while in Japan it came in the box you have there. Other than that, finding English information for JP releases from years past can be really hard as English indexing doesn’t cross over to Japanese.
Hope someone else can provide more information! I love an obscure ‘box’!
Hey! I’ve had a video opening one of these in my camera roll for months, just uploaded it for you here;
It was released alongside a Regigigas and Mewtwo LV.X deck. They were only released in this format in Japanese, no tin etc.
Most of the cards in each deck were holo/non holo reprints (depending on the original print) of promotional cards from the DP era. It gave players an easy and affordable way to acquire cards to play the TCG, without having to pay up for said promos.
The Shaymin deck in particular got really expensive recently because it has a reprint non-holo Pikachu, originally from the quiz rally prize.

Price memory kills me sometimes. I remember buying about a half dozen of these Mewtwo and Shaymin decks from Amazon JP using ZenMarket back around 2021 for $15 each.
yeah i think i paid about 6.50 for it in 2017z crazy how the market it is right now. seen my ppp play promos psa 10 going wild too
