This seems to be very hard to prove yes? I can say for sure, my workplace has a weekly games night and most of the people are MTG players. We also have people who have quick magic games during the lunch breaks with like a small group of clueless people like me gathering around just to see what is going on. However, I do not know if this is true for the teenager / zoomer demographic.
I think artwork is still subjective yes? I think this and this threads prove that. You see a nice and healthy distribution of cards which are extremely rare but no outright favorites.
Lastly, I think it would be extremely hilarious if somebody buys a booster box with the one serialized card and just never opens it. Or if some person who opens it and has no idea of the value and never talks / posts about it. But business wise, if this is a 1 of 1 in the world, as a company, I would never release it and just milk the customers speculating and trying to open products. Unless there are X number of booster boxes which will be printed, you can always keep printing and re-printing and cite the low percentage chance of the card being pulled.
Nice topic though. Thanks!
Cheers!
