Selling to a LGS?

Asking for a friend…

He’s looking to sell his entire collection so I’m trying to help him out with the best selling strategy. I don’t think he has the knowledge nor the time to list cards individually on ebay. He has a couple cards worth $50+, otherwise mostly a mix of random WotC holos and a bunch of commons.

My question is, what do you consider a fair selling price to a LGS for someone bringing in their collection? My assumption is a LGS would probably offer around 50% of eBay recently sold prices, but curious to hear what other people’s experience has been like selling to LGS’s.

I went to my lgs once to sell cards and they offered me 30% of tnt buy list prices lmao. I would advise listing it as a collection on eBay.

Sell on eBay or to T&T. You’ll get much more than any LGS would give you.

eBay 7 day auction. I feel like people are overpaying for peoples collections right now, so the difference between piecing it out and selling as a lot probably won’t be that massive.

He might even want to sell on Craigslist or Offer Up. That way he can let em go all at once to someone local and not deal with ebay shipping and fees. Would certainly get a better margin than the 30 to 50% value an LGS would offer.

I sell to my LGS every now and then to give them support. They offer right at 50% eBay sold prices.

I’d much rather sell to them than TnT
