Seller doesn't response after requested invoice

A card I wanted was for sale with domestic shipping only. I contacted the seller to ask if it was possible to ship internationally to The Netherlands, and how much that would cost. They quickly responded and gave me the amount, so I bought the card.
After that I got no response at all anymore… I requested the total twice, and send a message, but nothing. Currently I’m unable to pay as long as I haven’t received the total invoice. It’s been 5 days now without any response whatsoever…

Is there a hard limit to how much time you have to pay for something? And what happens when you exceed that, and you aren’t even able to pay due to the seller not responding and not giving a total invoice?

Ebay usually opens an unpaid item case automatically, for example if the seller has stated he wants payment within 3 days of purchase and if the buyer doesn’t pay within 3 days, a case will be opened.

So I think in your case it’s different because you have requested a total but haven’t received anything from the seller. So without an invoice you basically can’t pay. Someone correct me if I’m wrong though. Strange if they would punish you with an unpaid item case with this. Since it has already been 5 days I think it won’t happen though.

I have experience with this. If a seller refuses to send an invoice and opens up a case with ebay you will always get an unpaid item strike against your account, even if you had requested a total.
Also, some sellers have no idea what sending an invoice is. Make it clear that before you can pay, they have to take action to create an invoice. Too many times I’ve ran into inexperienced sellers that have no clue what invoices are.

Ah ok… Anyway, I’ve send the seller multiple messages so far and also made it very clear that I want to pay, and that I cannot pay before he send me the total invoice… I even included a screenshot with what my pay-screen looks like, stating I only have the options “Request total”, “Message seller”, and “Change address” and the Pay button is disabled at the moment.

Guess I’ll have to wait and message the seller more if necessary, and otherwise look for the same card elsewhere… (Luckily that card is widely available.) If what you said is true I hope they don’t open a case, since I cannot do anything against it. :S Currently I have 100% positive feedback as a buyer.

Let’s hope the seller either response so we can work this out together, or forgets everything including opening a case…

I would think that a call up to Ebay would result in the case dropped, as you and the seller had discussed before hand that shipping would be X amount

Who is the seller?

I think it may have something to do with the seller only selling within his country. It’s like eBay complicates things if that isn’t changed. I’m surprised it even let you purchase in the first place with this restriction.
