Sealed Legendary Collection 2002 Booster Box

To put it in perspective, the sealed box is probably worth double what a full NM/M Legendary Collection master set would cost, although prices and availability fluctuate. When put in that way for me at least, it’s pretty hard to justify opening the box. You really would just be paying purely “for the experience”.

Getting the cards graded could be very profitable. If you start opening the packs and the cards dont look gem I would stop.

The issue with LC grading is the odds of getting gem mint holos is just so low, and there are only a couple cards in psa 10 that would help the box pay for itself.

Glad you tried opening a pack to get a bit more of a feel for it before going all out on the box

Nice centering on those cards, are my eyes fooling me or do they have a vertical crease in the center?

I think it’s your eyes - they look fine to me.

The haunter looks like it might do, the rest look fine to me.

It’s more likely to be a print line or reflection tbh.

yeah it’s a factory line. i see gem mentioning that LC has a lot of factory line errors. however my reverse foil doesn’t seem to have any errors, so i guess it’s hit or miss.

If anyone is still floating around in this thread, i was curious to know what the ethics would be relating to re-selling boxes bought as investment pieces. Though i have heard rumors for what a sealed box of LC would be now, i’m sure they’re all exaggerated. But since i haven’t seen any other example on ebay in months, i’m not quite sure what to use as reference. I’ve found some single boosters selling for a decent amount (about 70USD) but a sealed box might have that rarity factor going for it.

What would be the best way to approach reselling without looking like i’m trying to rip people off?

The most recent sold listing showing up for me is this;

www.ebay.com.au/itm/POKEMON-Legendary-Collection-NEW-BOOSTER-BOX-Factory-Sealed-EXTREMELY-RARE-/361680276642?hash=item5435d30ca2:g:cToAAOSwc1FXYw6F

it went for 2.3k usd

as long as youre not asking an outrageous amount, you don’t have to worry about looking like you’re ripping people off

edit; funnily enough, you can usually make more money if you open a box and sell the packs individually, its easier to find 36 people to spend 70usd than it is to find 1 to spend 2.5k usd

put a best offer option on also.

People are going to pay what they are willing to pay. There is no way you can really rip someone off unless you are pushing a sale onto them or trying to sell the box on falsehoods.

If I am unsure of a price on an item I usually try my best to over estimate the value of the item if listing it on eBay, but always make sure to have the best offer option available.

Think the box is worth 3000 AUD? List it for 4000 and have a best offer option on it so that people can make offers that are under your asking price but closer to what you want for it.

Personally, I don’t think there’s any problem with reselling a box you bought. It belongs to you now and whether you sell it or not is totally up to you. There’s no ethical dilemma here.

Ethics of reselling it? :open_mouth:

You acquired it and legally and rightfully own it, right? It is to the best of your knowledge legitimate and you will list it accurately and truthfully, correct? There is nothing wrong with making some money on something that the market values higher than you paid for it. Congrats to you for making a savvy buy. You should be rewarded.

That being said, for my idea of value, I do have a buying thread and an open offer out for $2300 for a sealed legendary collection box. (link to thread). So that shows what I value it at, and would pay. PM me if interested.

yes it is ethically wrong, you should give it to me for free

Don’t worry about that, list it however you see fit. If someone wants to pay that price, they will. Just don’t open it. Please.
