Scummmmmbags on craigslist!

This couple has the same scam but in my area (Sacramento). It is the same deal too. They want you to pay via Facebook messenger app. They also have a pretty good trade binder for sale. The sad thing is that they actually have the cards. I’m sure they have scammed multiple people. Check out my Instagram @pokegrown if you want to see our interaction.

Or a 65 year old… Yes, that was common lingo 60 years ago.

I would tell them you have an uncle close by who has volunteered to pick them up and pay cash. Then see how they reply. Scammers wouldn’t approve I’d think.

Obvious scam. They have no intention of selling locally and price extremely low so people will ask them to ship. That way they can try to make you feel bad for being the one that requested it.

Even craigslist warns you about this:

Avoiding Scams
Deal locally, face-to-face —follow this one rule and avoid 99% of scam attempts.

Do not provide payment to anyone you have not met in person.
Beware offers involving shipping - deal with locals you can meet in person.
Never wire funds (e.g. Western Union) - anyone who asks you to is a scammer.
Don’t accept cashier/certified checks or money orders - banks cash fakes, then hold you responsible.
Transactions are between users only, no third party provides a “guarantee”.
Never give out financial info (bank account, social security, paypal account, etc).
Do not rent or purchase sight-unseen—that amazing “deal” may not exist.
Refuse background/credit checks until you have met landlord/employer in person.
“craigslist voicemails” - Any message asking you to access or check “craigslist voicemails” or “craigslist voice messages” is fraudulent - no such service exists.

I did just that actually haha, I said I had a 2nd cousin that lives in the area. Which the ad was listed in helena Montana. I said he was willing to meet them and pay them in cash. They responded with something along the lines of the ad was a month old and that they did not live in that area anymore.
