Legit Box?

Found this listing on craiglist locally. Guys is selling a 1st edition rocket booster box for just $1000. Seems way to good to be true, but I am trying to go see the box in person. Any tips to verify if its legit when i go see it?

“Friends and Family is safer” :unamused:

Most likely a scam. He does accept meetup so you have to be inspecting the box on your own. Please don’t get robbed.

You say it seems too good… of course it is.

He knows about “family/friends” but not the price of an item that’s all over lol.

Finally, like casual said (good eye dude) a worthpoint stamp is the dead giveaway;)

Box looks legit, but seller does not inspire trust. “Sells for 800-3000 so I will list it as 1000” makes no sense to me.

Even if he does meet in person it could be a setup especially during these trying times when a lot of people are broke. To good to be true almost always is. It’s not a $1000 deal it’s a $1000 robbery. Who knows maybe he’s just behind on market but i doubt thousands off anyone can search for eBay listings

Familiar with family/friends payments, steals 3 pictures from worthpoint, but mis-prices his item by 4000.00. You’re worrying me brother;)

Ya I wouldn’t believe it’s legit. And I was worried on what’s aloud to be said here but he could bring a weapon to the “deal” or meetup and things could get ugly. I rather miss the “opportunity” than risk being robbed or into series trouble

Prepare to get robbed when you inspect that box, would only go there fully armed haha!

That’s the thing it’s very hard to do a legit meetup for something like this. You can’t be like ok let’s call the cops here to verify its legit cash and box. Or let’s get the Pokemon company here to check it out. And let’s say the deal goes bad and you simply defend yourself. Next thing you know it you could be in trouble yourself. Too much what ifs and complications

Or they let you pick the meetup spot but demand to only meet at their new location also know as trap

For sure. I’ve always had my meetups in casinos. Police stations are good too.

This is a scam, its been going around Instagram also. He’s also saying pay him in PP FF for “Your protection”. Sad thing is, this guys probably getting a ton of people with this.

Anti-lure him

Agree with everyone saying this seems scammy.

Disagree with people being so against just the FF thing alone though. I’ve gone to meetups with people where I exchanged via facebook pay, venmo, paypal ff or other “unsafe” payment methods in lieu of cash due to their worry I assume that I’d have counterfeit cash or something I guess or just convenience . Making this agreement up front is in fact safer front the standpoint that both parties know no cash will be on hand and the theft risk goes away. Also I’ve done some of these in the past in police station or bank lobbies. Police stations having safe exchange locations are commonplace these days and my local stations post on their facebook about using it for marketplace deals and/or child custody related drop offs/pickups.

Ask for photos with a timestamp from different angles and offer something above the asking price. If they provide them, arrange to meet somewhere safe.

Runescape style?

I’ve never heard of these kind of services here in Europe. That’s a great idea.

You know it. TB him and switch spellbooks. RIP
