I can’t find the video but there was one the other day. Long story short, he was live on stream and there was a psa 10 yugioh card (i believe he was the middle man) and he thought the card was not deserving of a 10. Members on stream were saying do not crack it as it’s not your card. He completely ignored everyone and popped it open with his hands. Unsure if the picture I posted originally is off the same guy but yeh I’ve seen it done with hands. I’ve also seen it done with a bottle opener on the corner without causing any damage. Either way there are some dodgy people out there
@garyis2000 Here’s the since deleted IG post, he middled the card for someone, didn’t agree with the grade & cracked it out even though it wasn’t his card.
Yeah he’s gotten a lot of hate from the community recently for what he did. A 10 SDK is like 2k. Even though its likely misgraded there’s definitely ways you can resolve this issue differently. Pretty much any other choice would have been better than what he did, which was cracking the card without consent of the owner lol
He’s pretty firm in believing he’s a good person for not charging the owner a grading fee/shipping or whatever. Guess this guy was in way over his head… without even knowing basic PSA compensation rules. It’s one thing to make a mistake (though this is far beyond a mistake) but he also tripled down IIRC. Poor choices!
@ozenigma I was wondering about the different inscribed “PSA” logos. Yea what this guy did really bugs me. He must’ve had permission surely? How did people figure out how to crack them barehanded anyways? Slide fingernails in between and pull with all your might? I am on the “PSA needs to get their shit together boat” after a recent misgrade.
Everything I’ve seen or read about it only gives me more to question. Pictures alone don’t do it for me. Breaking it with his bare hands? Did you guys see those hands? They don’t look like they break much (no offense to the guy.) Where does the case break? I have plenty of new cases and there is no seam or area that looks vulnerable. Why would he break someone else’s card out? Where’s the video or pictures before it was broken out? Where’s the video of him doing it? Where’s the proof of any of these claims? Questions, questions, questions. What do those cases look like in person? What do they look like scanned or in good lighting?
If I found a vulnerability in a case I’d immediately email PSA with proof and an explanation behind it. Why post on instagram if this is a real exploit? So you can make the problem worse? It doesn’t make sense in any way.
