Just saw this comment. I don’t really know what to tell you, I felt comfortable buying from them because they had good feedback. But I got a crappy bubb.le mailer (something I would never mail such a high value card in) that was full of random common cards. In addition to that the weight of the package literally proves with zero room for error that not only was the card never stolen during transit (as the seller seems to claim), but it was also never even inside of the package when it was originally mailed.
And as previously discussed in this thread his IG account and ebay feedback seem kind of suspicious after closer inspection.
My thoughts are 1 of 2 possibilities.
- The account was hacked or sold and now a new person is using it.
- They regretted selling the card or someone else offered them more.

That’s terrible to have to go through, hope it’s resolved shortly.
Take good pictures of everything received as evidence. If he sent you a box that can’t even fit a PSA card in there, you’ve won. The people messaging seller, lol.
You May need a police report, per ebay policy, if seller is still not resolving issue.
Did you send images of received item to seller, requesting refund/actual card?
His ebay account matches his instagram account that he only uses to sell things on, his main instagram account is cardconnection if that is of any help
Sux to hear this. I actually had another bad eBay experience this week myself. Not quite a scam, but close. Some guy listed psa 8 no rarity ninetails for 33$ I bought it faster than you could say holy shit jackpot, and he ends up keeping it listed, sells 7 more, then says that that’s just a holder, please disregard. Then he changes the ad to show a mint ish ninetails regular rarity.
Frick. eBay is starting to suck.

Weirdly enough, the ONLY time I use GSP this year, same crap happened to me with a seller (not this one though). Bought items, got random stuff not even close to what I have purchased.

Does GSP know the contents and or value of the packages the deliver? Or did your package maybe have the price right on it.

Yeah they do, because GSP is created to pay for our custom fees. Not sure if they would randomly just take stuff from the package (there’s a youtuber who mainly talks about ipods who complained that GSP steals or opens the interior package). There’s also a chance they would slash open your sealed products too.

@ditto kind of makes me want to avoid using them. It’s probably best if no ones knows what’s inside the package or it’s value.

Have you had a final outcome from eBay? This is my greatest fear with online purchases, the buyer protection policies look good at face value but I’m always apprehensive about how they’re applied real world

eBay buyer protection is very robust. No reason to be apprehensive. It’s extraordinarily difficult to be scammed as a buyer on eBay.

eBay put my case on hold and said they sent me an email asking for additional information. They never sent any email. I waited on hold on the phone for an hour just for the guy to answer to tell me he works in the selling department and can’t help me in any way and that someone else would call me the next day. No one called.
eBay customer support has been beyond completely useless and are just taking me in circles and delaying the case.
I’ll make another update when it hopefully gets resolved

Exact same situation happened to me! figured it was too good to be true but took a chance, got a played ninetales card and the seller is like Im sorry how about a 20% refund? Im opening a case…
Also, hoping this gets resolved I know how horrible it can be dealing with Ebay sometimes. hoping it all gets resolved

Last card I bought was a fan club eevee for a similar price from japan. Came on time and with 11 or so extra crimson invasion japanese holo cards. So I did get some extras with a big card and all was fine.
Second, a simple bubble mailer with cardboard is really no less safe than a small package. I have never had a cracked case before and I think people severely underestimate the case durability. The way USPS operates it is extremely unlikely to get you case cracked since there is no situation where a box or something heavy would crush it. We are talking like foot in case for a situation where it cracks honestly. Small bubblebathbath mailers are also less likely to be stolen than small packages. I rather my packages be in bubble mailers between cardboard for “single cards”. If packaged well it does the job 99.9% of the time.
All in all this still sounds very sketchy. You didn’t get the card do you file a claim. It should end in your favor easy.
Lastly, this was already mentioned but I think ignored. Cases are less than 2 ounces in weight, not 5. Anyone that mails cards often should be aware of this.
The package weighed a little over 3.5, a case weighs a little over 1.5 ounces. The combined weight of both would of pushed the package into the 5 ounce range but the package says right on it that it’s total weight is 3 ounces.
This is why I don’t think the PSA slab was ever inside of the package, that combined with the fact I didn’t see an obvious tampering with the package.
If the label was bought through eBay (I do this for all of mine) then the weight is a pure estimate usually. The seller places a weight and then pays appropriately. USPS will allow you to be off by a bit, so whatever weight is on the package is really irrelevant. You can in no way judge content based on a package weight for this reason.
Edit: I learned that there is a price increase when you put down more than 4oz, so it is in the sellers interest just to say 3oz instead of 5oz for example. We’re talking like 50 cents, but USPS does not care about that small difference usually.
Just use 4oz, 8, 12, or 16 and you’ll never go wrong. Usps won’t penalize you for overstating the weight.
At 4:20 PM today I got my full refund, it took countless conversations with ebay support to get anywhere and I am so glad this massive headache is finally over.
I won’t get into too many details of the case battle but at one point I was told the case had been reviewed and closed in my favor but still needed a further 5 days for a reason I don’t really know. Nothing happened after 5 days so I contacted customer support again to be told to wait until tomorrow. The next day I contacted them again to be told that now the case was done being reviewed the refund needed to be reviewed, I was beyond frustrated and that lead to this exchange. She never replied after that and just transferred me to someone else.
At the end of the day although I am very sad I never got the card I at least got my money back and can move on. I got loads of other amazing cards recently and I am getting very close to finishing some collection goals that I have had for 5+ years. I have taken selling on ebay more seriously and I am probably selling 1000% more than I was last year. And I have recently started a youtube channel that I have been getting a lot of great support about.
I have a lot of positive things going on for me with collecting and in my life in general so I won’t be focusing on this one blemish as it is one of very few negative collecting experiences I have had.

I can’t 100% prove either way whether this card was stolen in the mail or never sent, but right now I would assume someone somewhere has it and may try and sell it.
